Web3 UX Designer (6-month contract)

Compensation: $45k - $65k estimated

***Please note that we are all currently working remotely until staff feel safe and comfortable returning to the office. Once we do, we expect to continue granting our team the flexibility of choosing to work from home or anytime from our HQ, but will confirm this once our plans are firm.

The Job

This position is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.

What you'll be doing:

  • Contribute to product design thinking, and advocate for the user to enable creation of user-driven success-focused digital experiences
  • Partner with Product, Content and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Work with the executives and the larger team to support existing, and future product strategy related efforts
  • Research and understand all facets of our future north star and provide insights that can be created into measurable analytics
  • Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with other designers, content, product and with engineers
  • Diagram site architectures and user interfaces using sitemaps and wireframes
  • Work with developers to help create high-level prototypes as necessary
  • Support continuous improvement of user experience tools, documentation and process

  • Loves creating amazing digital experiences that are rooted in empathy and are apart of and promote a holistic brand vision
  • Is well versed in product design and understands how interactivity can be used to enhance the experience and how to implement it
  • Has a deep understanding of design systems and building products in agile, bringing their technical knowledge to promote working smarter alongside developers
  • Collaborates often and with ease, bringing a friendly and open personality to whatever the task or discussion without bringing ego to the table
  • Utilizes design to not only meet the needs of our users but can understand and address the needs of business, and can solve for this
  • Is comfortable moving quickly when things are in motion and performs well in a multidisciplinary setting

What you must have:

  • 4+ years of UX Design experience in the Product Design field
  • A diploma or degree in design or related discipline (or proven history of experience)
  • Been a part of a team that has shipped software that solves real user’s problems and achieves measurable business outcomes
  • A portfolio demonstrating this with previous work that shows your design thinking, methodology, process, and overall UX approach
  • Documentation skills to produce and maintain specification documents, text strings, flowcharts, wireframes and other documentation that define the user experience
  • Familiarity with business requirement gathering, site assessment, competitive analysis, and secondary research
  • Inclusive design philosophy with a strong editorial sense
  • Comfort being the primary UX designer and/or researcher on product design projects from end to end
  • Fluency in responsive design patterns, iOS / Android applications patterns and Human Interface Design Guidelines
  • Familiarity with Native App, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS design capabilities
  • Expert knowledge of UX tools, design systems, and delivery methods

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working on online social platforms with a large user base
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including comfort in presenting
  • Understanding of how interactive models can enhance the user experience is a big plus.
  • A passion or understanding of photography (tell us what you shoot!) and/or fine arts
  • Being a member of the 500px community
  • Experience within the photography industry or photography-related field
