We are currently looking for an experienced Video Game Sound Designer to join our team in a part-time capacity.
Role Overview:
As a Video Game Sound Designer, you will be integral to our game development process, bringing our worlds to life through sound. We are seeking a candidate who has a deep understanding of audio engineering, a knack for working collaboratively with game developers, and a proven record of delivering high-quality sound on time and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, design, and implement high-quality sound effects and music for our games.
- Collaborate closely with game developers to ensure audio design supports the overall vision of the project.
- Manage all aspects of audio post-production, including editing, mixing, and mastering.
- Maintain and organize a comprehensive sound library.
- Work to tight deadlines and consistently deliver work on time and to a high standard.
- Contribute to audio design strategies and improvements to processes.
- Implement high-quality sound effects that complement the game's visual and narrative elements.
- Find and fix audio related bugs.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of audio assets to ensure they function correctly across different platforms and devices.
- Collaborate with game designers, artists, programmers, and other stakeholders to understand the game's vision and integrate audio seamlessly into the overall gameplay experience.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in game audio design and implement innovative audio techniques in projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Audio Engineering, Music, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Sound Designer, Audio Engineer, or similar role in the gaming industry.
- Proficient in audio design software such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Audacity, or equivalent.
- Experience with middleware such as FMOD or Wwise is a plus.
- Strong understanding of game development processes and workflows.
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Passion for gaming and deep understanding of how sound contributes to player experience.
