About This Role – Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Manager
The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager (“BC/DR”), part of the Genesis Enterprise Risk Management program, will be responsible for the execution of BC/DR processes and reports to the VP, Enterprise and Business Risk.
BC/DR identifies, measures, monitors, and reports risks and exposures to Genesis by applicable external organizations through; Onboarding (Risk Assessments), Monitoring, Offboarding, and Reporting.
This role includes oversight and execution of BC/DR including managing internal stakeholder relationships, and overall program reporting in relation to the Risk Management Framework, Third-Party Risk Management Framework, and Business Continuity Policy. In addition, the BC/DR Manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation and implementation of Business Impact Assessments and Business Continuity Plans for appropriate risk identification, risk mitigation, and issue management across internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should have a strong financial industry background in operational, security, and/or technology risk and a deep understanding of BC/DR assessments, plans, and risk-related methodologies
Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise for Business Resiliency scope and implementation, including Business Impact Assessments and Business Continuity Plans methodologies and best practices across Genesis entities and jurisdictions for department heads
- Establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration to identify, measure, monitor, and manage BC/DR risks and controls
- Review completed BIAs and BCPs and ensure the quality of work performed with other analysts
- Oversee risk-based analysis such as communication of identified risks to key stakeholders, organizing remediation action plans, and track and monitor identified BC/DR risks to closure
- Assist in creating and developing a BC/DR toolset across resiliency-related documentation (BIA's, plans, test, scope and results, metrics and reporting, etc.)
- Guide BC/DR coordinators and business managers to document BIA and BCP
- Partner with department heads to implement robust resiliency solutions and plans
- Validate resiliency solutions and plans have been adequately tested during annual exercises.
- Provide Quality Assurance on documentation to verify that plan strategies are sufficiently implemented.
- Escalate unresolved issues or findings impacting Genesis business to management including a recommendation to pursue services level remedies where appropriate
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging risk-related information to contribute to the continuous improvement of the BC/DR program.
- Assist with audit and regulatory examinations as needed across BC/DR
Technical Skills:
- Advanced in Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with BC/DR tools and risk management solutions
- Experience with GRC systems and tools (LogicGate)
Experience with data analytics, and data visualizations tools (a plus
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Risk Management, Technology or Security, or another related area
- 3-5 years of experience in Security, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, Operational Resiliency, Risk Management, Operations, Auditing, Consulting, or equivalent
- 3+ years of direct work experience in Security, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, Operational Resiliency, Risk Management, or financial services industries
- Possess an understanding of the business resiliency planning cycle including analysis, design, implementation, validation, testing, problem resolution
- Expertise and knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery for Financial Institutions, including experience working with regulators (SEC, FINRA, FCA, MAS)
- Knowledge of Broker Dealers, Financial Holding Companies, Exchanges, and other types of financial institutions
- Knowledge of Best Practice COSO, FFIEC, and ISO 22301
