Crypto Compliance Manager

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a Compliance Manager at Neural to ensure that the firm is at all times in good regulatory standing, in the US, EU, and in other jurisdictions where we may decide to operate. As the designated Compliance Manager, you will have the ultimate responsibility for the regulatory compliance with all applicable requirements. You will also be responsible for licensing, continuous regulatory compliance, internal controls, reporting, AML/CFT, and driving the compliance culture within the firm. This role will work heavily with the other C-level executives including the Chief Crypto Officer.

Roles & responsibilities
• Design and implement compliance frameworks, policies, processes, and systems around Neural’s products and services
• Develop, implement and manage an effective legal compliance program and create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
• Act as an internal escalation point for the firm's internal policies and procedures and be the day-to-day contact person for any regulatory authorities as appropriate
• Help identify existing potential areas of compliance vulnerability and develop/implement pragmatic corrective action plans
• Maintain awareness of EU and global regulatory developments with regards to all our business activities
• Work with management and staff to ensure that the business implements and maintains suitable systems and controls to meet the regulatory requirements
• Analyze and interpret any regulatory changes to the management, legal counsel and any other applicable stakeholders
• Oversee the implementation of new regulatory requirements as they arise and oversee any relevant filings/applications by the firm to any regulatory authority
• Perform research in support of ongoing and ad-hoc compliance projects and conduct in-depth due diligence reviews
• Work with the product development team in order to bring fully compliant products
• Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses

Qualifications
• A degree in business or financial law is preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in regulatory or compliance managerial position at a financial institution or in a fintech startup, ideally in the crypto space or alternatively in a law firm handling compliance matters
• Proven experience creating, developing and implementing internal corporate compliance programs
• Ability to distil and discern important information from regulatory guidance, statutes and regulations, audit findings, and other documents and determine how it impacts the business
• Comprehensive knowledge of the EU and US financial regulatory environment, current developments, and licensing requirements
• Familiarity with anti-money laundering and know-your-customer best practices in EU and US markets
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across technical and non-technical groups
• Ability to balance competing priorities on a daily basis, take ownership of work product, and consistently deliver results
• Must be able to perform independently and with minimal supervision
• Strong project management and time-management skills
• Good understanding of the blockchain/crypto & NFT space
• Experience in the crypto industry is a strong plus
• Fluent in English
