About the Team

As a leading Global exchange, OKcoin maintains a Risk and Compliance Program designed to manage legal, regulatory and ethical risks across our business.

This position is reporting to the AML Compliance Officers (MLROs) in Europe and is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, support and monitoring of the Risk and Compliance Programs across the OK Group Europe entities.

The position will ensure that these entities practice effective risk management, decision-making and due diligence of key processes to meet international standards and the requirements of regulations and laws of Malta and the EU. These activities include the following areas of risk:

  • Anti-Money Laundering / Counter-Terrorist Financing;
  • Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption;
  • EU, UN, OFAC and other global Sanctions;
  • Other specific compliance requirements of regulators who have regulatory authority over our operations in Europe.

In addition, this role also carries responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of business ethics, as set out in our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Particular areas of focus include:

  • Business Conduct and Ethics;
  • Conflicts of Interest; and
  • Prevention of Insider Dealing and Market Abuse

What You'll be Doing:

  • Responsible for supporting the AML Compliance Officers (MLROs) in all Risk and Compliance matters as an additional point of contact for local regulators, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support and help grow business partnerships and share regulatory compliance knowledge with our business colleagues
  • Execute on our risk assessment, processes, controls and procedures, while meeting obligations of international and local regulatory laws and requirements
  • Coordinate with the MLROs to comply with SAR reporting obligations with the Malta FIAU. Accountable for managing the process and ensuring high-quality and timely reporting to regulatory authorities
  • Execution of due diligence responsibility requirements of our AML / CFT & Sanctions Program, Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption Policy including third party due diligence
  • Respond to requests for information from regulators, law enforcement, clients and partners
  • Responsible for internal and external reporting including local dashboard and key metrics
  • Continually identify opportunities for efficiencies while escalating any controls deficiencies
  • Handle queries and questions on the Compliance Program from the business and support functions

What We Look For in You:

  • 3-5 years of experience in execution of compliance programs and controls within the financial services or cryptocurrency industry
  • Bachelor's degree or other higher education qualifications required
  • Solid understanding of core pillars of effective AML/CTF and Sanctions programs and applicable legislation
  • Professional AML/CTF compliance training or accreditation
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks
  • Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable to question and challenge
  • Professional spoken and written English language skills required; multiple European spoken language skills preferred
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Some travel and extended business hours (for global conference calls) may be required
  • Good knowledge of cryptocurrency industry products, emerging products, regulations and related trends
