Community Leader (Web3 game)

Community Leader:

Scopely is looking for an individual to join as the leading Community voice and social personality for our newest game community, a soon-to-be announced triple-A game built for Web3. Scopely believes that blockchain technologies offer new avenues of player empowerment that will revolutionize the gaming industry, enabling new ways of engaging with digital content and communities. This role will be instrumental in driving the growth and advancing the culture of this Community to the forefront of the future of play. The ideal candidate is flexible, highly motivated, and approachable, with excellent communication skills honed by their experience leading online communities. They’ll operate at the intersection of marketing, web3 influencer and community relations officer. This position will play a key role in driving community engagement and advocacy, acting as the voice of the Community internally while being a visible Community leader externally.

Responsibilities / Role:

• Serve as the leading public Community personality for a forthcoming triple-A web3 game
• Seen as the single-most influential individual for driving Community growth and culture across key social channels (Discord, Twitter, Reddit, etc.)
• Continuously monitor social media channels and engage meaningfully with both our Community and the wider crypto community as a representative of Scopely
• Engage directly with NFT, Web3, and Gaming communities and media outlets, creating and publishing social content as a key opinion leader and Scopely insider
• Proactively identify opportunities for Community engagement and collaboration, innovating on how we bring rewarding experiences to our Community on a regular basis (e.g. Discord Events, Twitter Spaces, Podcasts, etc.)
• Work closely with Scopely product, marketing and communications teams to ensure critical information about feature updates, product launches as well as bug-related issues land appropriately with our Community
• Onboard new Community members and keep existing members motivated to participate in our Community
• Promote an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed
• Support our Community moderator teams, keeping them motivated, productive, and focused
• Communicate with fans, influencers, agencies and other partners/collaborators – both online and offline – to increase Scopley’s network
• Represent the voice of the Community, bringing sentiment/feedback to Product and Marketing teams

Preferred Skills:

• Deep understanding of the role community plays at the center of web3 gaming products
• Mastery of Discord capabilities and Twitter account management earned through experience with community management and customer service
• Strong passion for and foundational (non-technical) understanding of NFTs, blockchain, crypto, metaverse and gamer culture
• Strong knowledge and deep appreciation of the brand and storylines
• Team player - able to effectively engage stakeholders, partners & community members – able to hear, process, and respond to feedback to produce creative solutions to meet their needs
• Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a rapidly shifting landscape
• Strong work ethic, great interpersonal and communication skills, experience managing conflicts, and ability to respond creatively to challenges
• Able to build authentic relationships, comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life
• Patience and maturity in helping out the new and unacquainted (e.g. for new member onboarding)
• Available for daily check-ins and flexible with hours, as Community will be engaging with content 24/7
• Good time-management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Can work independently, a self-starter
