Web3 Compliance & Fraud Manager

Responsibilities:

• Development and management of Turkey's compliance policies and processes
• Maintaining overall compliance with the requirements and obligations prescribed by the MASAK (Local FIU), authorities and other relevant authorities
• Good knowledge on provisions of Turkish laws, directives, regulations and otherwise standards applicable to subject persons and knowledge of upcoming regulation of virtual currency policies is a strong plus;
• Proficiency in compliance applications and programmes such as Thomson Reuters Worldcheck, Jumio, Chainalysis etc.;
• Handle, review and verify all applications for client onboarding and transaction monitoring within available SLAs;
• Monitoring and documentation of unusual activity or AML flags;
• Good proficiency in conducting risk assessments, periodic/trigger reviews and enhanced due diligence; Focusing on internal compliance policy review, including ongoing assessments, assisting with compliance review, internal audit reviews and ongoing or ad hoc reviews
• Good knowledge of national and international AML/CFT legislation
• Making recommendations for enhancing the firm’s systems, controls and processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal or related disciplines, or equivalent practical experience, an MBA degree will be plus,
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in a risk, fraud, compliance, AML, legal or regulatory functions; experience working with any regulated financial services business in legal or compliance roles preferred
• Fluency in English and Turkish are desirable,
• Knowledgeable of AML legislation, virtual currency regulations, and other relevant regulation;
• Proven industry experience in the fin-tech/e-commerce/retail/payments sector;
• Interactions with the financial regulatory authorities (i.e. MASAK, Turkish Security Exchange Commission, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey) or relevant financial regulatory authorities will be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of national and international AML/CFT legislation, including FATF recommendations and virtual currency regulations, along with 5MLD.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global organization maintaining close contact with relevant teams across multiple locations.
• Good understanding in performing risk assessments, periodic/trigger reviews and enhanced due diligence.
• Excellent at cross team coordination, project prioritization, multitask management and coordination ability
