- Advise internal stakeholders at each stage of the product roadmap, from ideation through post-launch iterations, considering legal, compliance and regulatory risks.
- Support all commercial and contractual matters by drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide variety of agreements
- Provide timely, strategic and risk-weighted advice that both considers legal and financial risks and advances company goals
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop solutions for new and complex problems
- Serve as an informed resource by consistently engaging with stakeholders, seeking out relevant information, asking questions and staying apprised of current legal and technology issues, changes in applicable law and best practices
- Maintain prioritization alignment with internal stakeholders and company leadership
- Consistently demonstrate sound judgment and deliver high quality work while operating in a fast-paced, evolving and demanding environment
- A Juris Doctorate degree from U.S. accredited institution
- A license to practice law in New York or California
- 8+ years of post-J.D. experience, including experience practicing law at a top-tier law firm
- Experience advising technology companies, preferably in-house experience with a consumer technology or a crypto/blockchain company.
- Experience counseling product teams in launching technology products and a clear understanding of applicable areas of law including privacy, data protection, security and intellectual property
- Outstanding drafting, communication and analytical skills with impeccable attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to work collaboratively in a startup environment
- Strong interest in blockchain technology and new use cases for decentralized technology
