Web3 Data Engineer

Data Engineer

Shakepay’s internal data platform powers internal reporting and decisions, product experiments and operational workloads. As a Data Engineer on the data platform team, you’ll collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers and other Data Engineers to maintain and extend the platform and help Shakepay build data-driven experiences for our customers and internal stakeholders.

You will:

• Build ELT/ETL data pipelines responsible for data ingestion and integration from various sources (batch and streaming) into Shakepay’s internal data platform, and work closely with other stakeholders throughout the company.
• Design, deploy and maintain the infrastructure that supports those pipelines: task orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, data governance, and data monitoring & observability.
• Work closely with data scientists and analytics engineers to understand their needs and support their projects.
• Help administer the data platform; user administration, data access policies, and performance/cost optimization.
• Translate business requirements into architectural designs with estimates.

Must have:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort operating in a remote work context.
• 4+ years of experience writing advanced Python and SQL code in a data context.
• 4+ years of experience working with cloud data warehouses (we use Snowflake).
• 3+ years of cloud architecture experience in a data context (our main cloud provider is AWS) using tools like S3, Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, among others.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable batch and streaming pipelines with the above tools.
• Experience with IaC frameworks like Terraform.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with data transformation tools like dbt
• Experience implementing data governance tools
• Some Kubernetes experience is a plus
• Working experience in crypto or fintech
