Overview of Role
Heretic Ventures is seeking a Fractional HR Lead for their stealth generative AI consumer business, offering the opportunity to work with industry pioneers and be at the forefront of innovation in shaping AI-driven consumer experiences.
Join our team as a Fractional HR Lead, providing crucial HR expertise on a part-time basis. This role involves developing and implementing HR policies and processes, ensuring compliance, overseeing benefits administration, employee equity grants, and payroll, and supporting our HR needs as we scale for growth.
This is a unique opportunity to help build a billion-dollar company from the ground up while learning from successful repeat entrepreneurs and a team of powerful and experienced mentors and advisors.
About Heretic:
Heretic Ventures is a San Francisco-based venture studio ideating and launching new businesses in the creator economy, including those that capitalize on AI/ML technology. Heretic is run by Managing Partner Mariam Naficy, who founded and built the pioneering internet companies Minted and Eve.com. Heretic is backed by household names in Silicon Valley (investors and entrepreneurs), who act as the studio’s advisors both in selecting and in advising companies.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on HR Strategy: Work closely with leadership and staff to define and execute HR strategies that align with and drive business objectives.
- Develop and Oversee HR Policies: Establish and manage HR policies and programs, offering guidance and support to address employee and management HR needs.
- Facilitate Leadership and Organizational Development: Lead efforts in organization and leadership development, addressing root causes of HR and employee relations issues with employees and managers.
- Analyze Metrics for Improvement: Use data and metrics related to talent acquisition, attrition, diversity, and performance to develop and refine solutions, programs, and policies.
- Manage Talent and Succession Planning: Play a key role in talent management and succession planning to ensure effective growth and development within the startup.
- Lead Change Management and Engagement: Provide leadership in change management and advise on strategies to enhance employee engagement and foster positive relations.
- Compliance: Ensures that our HR practices comply with legal standards and employment laws to mitigate risks and avoid costly penalties.
Qualifications:
- HR Experience: 5+ years in HR, including 2+ years in a leadership role managing a team.
- Startup Expertise: Experience managing HR operations in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in data-driven analysis related to HR/People metrics.
- Benefits Expertise: Deep understanding of complex tax, legal, compensation, and immigration issues related to benefits.
- Communication Skills: Exemplary verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to influence effectively.
