Work location:New York, NY (Bryant Park)

Salary:$144k-180k (Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, long term incentives, equity and other benefits).

About the Role

BEES is seeking an experienced attorney to provide strategic legal advice across its business. You will support a broad range of business and technical teams and provide imbedded legal support from beginning to end of the project lifecycle. Types of work may include:

• Corporate law
• Contract negotiation and review
• SaaS and software licensing deals
• Full-service legal support for new initiatives
• Drafting legal documents
• Web3 and blockchain
• Product counseling support and legal review of new software products and features
• Reviewing and analyzing legal developments and hot topics
• Managing outside counsel
• And much more

You will also partner with the local legal teams in each BEES country to ensure BEES is compliant with all local law.

The ideal candidate will have experience working at a large law firm.

In this role, you will be working at BEES global headquarters in New York, NY, and you will be asked to spend at least some days in the office. Limited international travel will be required. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.

Job Description/Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to the BEES commercial, technical, and product teams, providing full-service legal advice.
• Draft and negotiate different types of corporate and commercial contracts, including strategic partnership contracts and SaaS agreements.
• Partner with the BEES commercial and engineering teams to understand their goals and challenges, in order to provide tailored and practical legal advice.
• Serve as a center of excellence on tech-focused legal issues and a resource for specialized BEES legal support.
• Work with our local lawyers when launching BEES in new countries, and thereafter, to ensure compliance with local law.
• Identify and anticipate complex and emerging legal, corporate affairs, and reputational issues
• Provide trainings to the commercial and engineering teams on key legal issues.
• Ensure new products/features and/or services provided through our digital platform comply with law and industry best practices.
• Communicate legal strategies and developments to senior leadership.
• Manage relationships with outside counsel on strategic projects.

Job Qualifications

• Attorney licensed to practice in at least one US state.
• Bachelor's degree and JD from an ABA-accredited law school, with strong academic credentials.
• 3+ years of relevant experience, including experience at a large law firm (highly preferred).
• Prior experience advising technology companies or on technology-related issues, preferred.
• Ability and desire to work on a broad range of legal issues, flexibility to function as a generalist lawyer but dive into specific, complex legal issues.
• Desire to work within a collaborative and energized legal team.
• Ability to work independently and in a start-up environment, which is fast-paced and tech-driven.
• Practical legal approach, focused on enabling the business strategy.
• Fully fluent in English, proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.
