Web3 Product Interaction Designer

Overview

Knox Networks is an open source software platform that supports white label programmable money and digital identity solutions for financial institutions.

The Knox software platform can be used for issuing, authorizing, verifying, executing, transacting, distributing and reporting programmable money between financial institutions and/or consumers as non-account based financial instruments including, but not limited to: digital cash, treasury securities, repurchase agreements, central bank digital currencies and any other cash analogue. Our technology focuses on balancing privacy, scalability and interoperability with various financial standards and payment networks.

Description

As a Product Interaction Designer, you will collaborate with the company’s CTO, CEO, and an experienced technical team of other senior engineers, distributed systems computing experts and security experts, who are all committed to building world changing decentralized infrastructure. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and master the latest research concerning distributed systems, cryptography, blockchains, game theory, consensus algorithms, and decentralized applications.

You will be given a high level of autonomy/ownership over your projects, the opportunity to expand your scope of knowledge, and the chance to help build the decentralized infrastructure of the future.

The position is based in New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA (also open to 100% remote) with full-time salary and benefits.

Key Responsibilities, Prioritized:*

  1. Primarily using React and focusing on the UIs of the company's various products
  2. Implementing initial prototypes and proofs of concept, and taking them all the way to production code interfacing with users.
  3. Improving the existing interfaces with our blockchain products.
  4. Maintaining a robust suite of tests to ensure that the UI functionality of our products is of the highest quality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extended Web3 and Web2 Knowledge: Candidates must have the technical and strategic acumen to understand:
    • Custodial Wallet Solutions
    • Working with technical teams to integrate API request flows
    • Knowledge of platform specific APIs for biometrics, web-APIs, forms and other front-end interfaces.

  • Widespread development knowledge:
    • Experience with front-end JavaScript and TypeScript or mobile frameworks and other various frontend technologies is a plus.
    • Experience using Figma and/or other design software.
    • Version control experience with Git/GitHub and branching methodologies, code review tools, CI tools, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
    • Great with unit and functional testing and debugging.
  • Preferred Crypto and FinTech Awareness: Understanding and experience working in the financial industry, Familiarity with any of the following: payments, digital wallets, clearing and settlement, privacy, security etc. Understanding and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and the blockchain industry.
  • Comfort in ambiguous unstructured environments: Building something new comes with significant ambiguity, and we want people that can thrive in that ambiguity. ****The environment is highly dynamic, and there are no precedents.

Requirements

  • Received a bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or a related technical field, and proven excellence in previous roles.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience designing user experiences and mockups using Figma or other design software.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript, JavaScript, Dart, Kotlin, Swift, WebAssembly is a plus.
  • Experience with Web or Mobile Frameworks such as Svelte, Flutter, and React is a plus.
  • Experience with test-driven development and the use of testing frameworks
  • Knowledge of systems design concepts
  • Strong communication skills, specifically giving/receiving constructive feedback in a collaborative setting
  • Be based at the office in New York or LA and be able to travel within the U.S. and internationally on a regular basis as needed.
