Senior Software Development Engineer in Test - Platform

We are Mythical Games. A Venture-backed next-generation game technology company at the intersection of video games and economics led by industry veterans. Our goal is to lead the industry with the launch of exceptional video game experiences that leverage distributed ledger technology, while also providing a platform of robust tools that will allow any other game developers to do the same.

We are actively looking for a talented and driven SDET to join our growing Core team based in Los Angeles, CA. This role reports into our Platform SDET Lead and will play an integral role in ensuring the quality of our Core Services platform while helping define and build the QA platform. This role is focused on Game Services backend and Commerce.

The ideal candidate will be self organizing and passionate about speeding up delivery time without sacrificing quality. They will be highly involved in platforming our test automation and CICD. They will be highly collaborative but also have the ability to stay focused when in an isolated environment. Proactive communication and transparency is a must while we all are working remotely due to Covid-19.

Responsibilities:

• Work with QAs and other SDETs toward goals of supporting frequent releases and optimizing platform experiences
• Define and implement best practices and coding standards.
• Work closely with engineering leads and lead SDET to determine automation needs and efforts.
• Design, build and implement automation foundations that allow Quality Engineers to contribute to test automation for both front and back end.
• Participate in all phases of product development, starting from requirements and design to validation and deployment.
• Collaborate closely with a team of engineers and product owners to influence design decisions.
• Conduct root cause analysis of issues and be able to provide solutions.
• Be involved in the code review process for both QA and development teams.
• Be a problem solver and self-driven to get the results.
• Mentor more Junior members of the team.
• Have fun.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with automating backend systems and services.
• Ability to understand the inner workings of a large and complex technology stack.
• Experience designing and building test frameworks for both front end and back end systems.
• Strong understanding and experience with object-oriented methodology, shell scripting, and related tools/ scripting languages.
• Ability to identify testing and delivery gaps and provide solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Ability to stand up environments in cloud infrastructure.
• Experience being integrated in code review processes.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Expertise with various test approaches:
• Component
• Integration
• Contract validation
• Performance
• Security
• Reliability
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and working experience in an Agile environment

Highly Preferred, if:

• You have Blockchain testing experience.
• You have Cypress automation experience.
• You have experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
• You’ve worked with Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.
• You have experience with Security testing.
• You have a passion for gaming, marketplaces, and/or blockchain technology
