Web3 Senior Technical Project Manager

We are looking for a strong senior Technical Project Manager to join a fantastic group of technologists, industry SMEs and thought leaders in the digital currencies space.

As part of the Digital Currencies team, you will own the entire end-to-end technical delivery of R3’s new product offering, ensuring we deliver software on time, quality and budget. You are knowledgeable in mainstream project management approaches with a good understanding of Agile Software Methodology, leveraging both to provide governance required for our stakeholders and the agility necessary for development teams.

You will need solid technical project management experience with either hands-on experience or a strong understanding of Distributed technologies or large-scale n-tier technologies leveraging AWS or Azure. You will have a natural flair for getting the most out of the teams, complementing your strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You will have a strong foresight for potential challenges and risks and devise plans to address and mitigate these. You will be accountable for the overall technical delivery of R3’s digital currencies product, ensuring customer commitments can be adhered to through rigorous project management processes.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of project deliveries, applying appropriate project control techniques to ensure the successful execution of projects on time, within scope and budget.
• Manage multiple scrum teams, ensuring teams operate in a unified approach, implementing agile ways of working to ensure regular product increments are developed, tested and released.
• Align with Engineering, Product Management, QA, Project Management, and Customer-facing teams to ensure development teams are delivering value and fully aligned across the program.
• Continuously demonstrate R3 project management and governance principles, providing consistently reliable service to sponsors and key stakeholders.
• Apply robust and appropriate project planning to capture and track activities so technical project teams can work as efficiently and effectively as possible.
• Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders using a variety of techniques appropriately tailored to the audience.
• Produce, validate and publish accurate project reports and dashboards, and provide visibility.
• Organise regular demos to demonstrate progress to internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with customer-facing teams to identify, own and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
• Create fast learning loops, obtain customer feedback and reduce cycle time. Create the shortest path possible to outcomes, amplify or pivot work.
• Display flexibility under changing priorities and actively collaborate with R3 teams to achieve common objectives.
• Deliver weekly status reports and time tracking, ensuring transparent updates and management of overall delivery health internally and to stakeholders.
• Provide accurate resource forecasts at any point in time for use in decision-making around project resource request management or change impact analysis.

Must-Have Competencies:

• A deep understanding of project management principles, particularly Agile software delivery methodologies.
• Previous experience in delivering large-scale projects focussing on commercial or central banks required.
• 10+ years of experience managing enterprise projects, preferably using cloud technologies.
• Strong communication skills able to clearly articulate risks and, therefore, navigate complex dependencies with other parts of R3
• Atlassian Jira & Confluence experience is an advantage.
• Comfortable and able to work under pressure and navigate different stakeholders.

Desirable Competencies:

• Any experience in Distributed Ledger technologies, Digital Assets, Interoperability, Payments, and CDBCs is higly desirable.
