Web3 Visual Designer, Celo Foundation

At the Celo Foundation we partner with organizations across the Celo ecosystem including partnering with cLabs, the team working on the open source platform Celo, whose mission is to build a financial system that creates the conditions for prosperity for all.

Celo aims to remove the barriers for large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means-of-payment. Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text. Additionally, Celo uses stable-value tokens pegged to fiat currencies, like the US Dollar, to minimize volatility. Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application launched on the Celo platform, Valora, is a social payments and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.

Celo Foundation is looking for a visual designer to join the organization's remote-friendly Marketing and Communications Circle.

Celo’s audience is global and spans across a wide demographic of personas. Designing for all takes deep empathy, patience, and humility. The Visual Designer will join a small and growing team and be a contributor in Celo’s look and feel. They bring form, aesthetic, and spirit to Celo’s Marketing and Communications to interface with the world.

You Have:

• Visual design fluency—studious about hierarchy, consistent layouts, grids, and rhythm
• Art direction skills that contribute to a project’s vision
• You create beautifully polished design work, you obsess over details and are excited to iterate until your work is pixel-perfect
• Open-minded and opinionated about current design trends
• You can think in terms of design systems with an understanding of how your work in one area plays out across the larger experience
• Experience designing mobile applications and websites
• Enjoy telling a story through meaningful, coherent visual languages — illustrations, iconography, layout design, and color
• +3 Years of experience designing for mobile, print, media and brand experiences
• Portfolio mandatory for application
• Bonus: Motion design, 3D rendering, print experience.
