Orcaâs mission is to become the leading provider of financial primitives on Solana. Orca sees a future where a meaningful percentage of the worldâs financial transactions is powered by CLAMMs and other Decentralized Finance (DeFi) products. Orcaâs looking to add another senior software engineer to accelerate our progress towards that vision.
As a team of senior engineers, Orcaâs contributors are comfortable working around the stack but tend to be experts in a particular area. Orca is looking for a like-minded generalist who enjoys talking to developers, build out our SDK and write excellent documentation.
What youâll do
- Build delightful user-facing products, whether itâs a TypeScript SDK, stats and price API, or brand new interface.
- Create compelling user experiences with a sharp eye for design details.
- Make complex interactions and animations look easy and seamless to both end users and fellow engineers.
- Maintain tooling and best practices for testing, package management, and CI/CD.
- Improve site speed, performance, and reliability.
- Contribute to an open-source culture and process.
What youâll bring
- Proven track record: Youâve worked on performant, user-facing features at scale, ideally in finance or adjacent industry.
- Balanced mindset: Youâre comfortable working independently in an async environment, but also enjoy coming together to collaborate as a team. Youâre passionate about certain technologies and patterns, but also recognize there are trade-offs in different scenarios. You donât see everything in absolutes, and identify the underlying dimensions to make decisions.
- Design sense: While youâre capable of creating âpixel perfectâ interfaces, youâre equally comfortable (and maybe even prefer) filling in the details and making design suggestions yourself.
- Excellent communicator: You articulate your thoughts and ideas clearlyâand pass the mic to empower others to be heard.
- Interest in DeFi: Whether youâre completely new to DeFi or an accomplished degen, youâre excited to create a more decentralized, equitable financial system.
- Experience or interest in open source: Youâre ready to make Orca fully open source and decentralized.
