We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join the BANXA Finance team in Melbourne. You will be an integral member of our growing team. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will primarily support the daily finance operations, period-end closure, finance analysis and reporting, policy and procedures enhancements, business process improvements, finance system integration and automation projects. As you know, the financial world is expanding into new depths and realms, with crypto being the biggest driver of this. What You'll Do 👀

Financial accounting:

• You will be responsible for the management of assigned Balance Sheet reconciliations with schedules, details of accounts and other supporting documents
• Investigate 🕵️all follow-up actions, for reconciling items and variances identified in reconciliations
• All processing of financial transactions and journals 📓for assigned entities
• Providing sound financial analysis 📈 and insights to support ad hoc reports
• Preparing financial information distribution as requested by internal stakeholders
• Assisting with preparation of financial statements consolidation and financial reports
• Supporting group quarter-end review and annual audit in accordance with local/international accounting standards
• Responding to queries and requests for information by external auditors to facilitate the reviewing/auditing process and statutory reporting 📊

Business process improvements:

• You will be responsible for ensuring a streamlined period-end closure process
• Supporting finance and operation system automation enhancements
• Aid auto reconciliation tool implementation
• You will assist with Finance system integration project
• Document financial procedure and processes to ensure governance over accounting and reporting activities
• Ad-hoc duties as required

You should apply if ✅

• Experience in high volume transactional processing environment & a general understanding of foreign exchange is desirable
• CPA or CA qualification with 3+ years industry experience
• Knowledge of Xero or NetSuite software (strong advantage)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• You will have a solid technical accounting aptitude and business acumen
• You will have strong execution, an analytical mindset and impeccable problem solving skills
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and effectively manage your workflow
• Work autonomously with a proactive approach
