The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for maximizing the return on the company’s financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems with a goal of (a) increasing profitability and efficiencies, (b) establishing a strategic growth plan and (c) forecasting to prevent problems. This position will require a latitude for independent judgment and decision under general supervision. This position reports directly to the Agency Partners. The Chief Financial Officer will also be responsible for overseeing financials for all Agency affiliates including the Agency, Productions, Incubator and a new Web3 division, FV3.


Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

FINANCE

  • In tandem with Partners, create the Company’s financial strategy
  • Execute the Company’s financial strategy
  • Develop plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditure
  • Identify investment opportunities, manage mergers and acquisitions, present financial opportunities for growth
  • Assist the CEO to develop financial plans
  • Manage all accounting procedures
  • Oversee all Company Financials including P&L’s, Balance Sheets, and other reports, advising Partners and Leadership Team
  • Oversee and manage cost and general accounting, accounts receivable and payable
  • Prepare weekly reports to deliver to the Partners by Wednesday of each week including but not limited to Cash Reports, Burn Rates, etc.
  • Manage the cash flow and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts for the Partners
  • Work with Company’s business management firm to prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Work with Departmental Heads and/or other company personnel to establish processes for budgeting, bill pay, client invoicing, reconciliation, etc.
  • Send monthly invoices to all clients including retainer fees, hourly recaps provided by Resourcing, and requested back-up documentation
  • Process weekly bill pay accurately and on time
  • Review all SOW’s, MSA’s, and Contracts for applicable financial information and ensure payment dates are structured accurately
  • Maintain database of fully executed contracts and ensure payments dates are met
  • Ensure all fees and production advances are issued and/or collected for all retainers and projects
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations
  • Establish, manage and maintain the AMEX cards, coding, and payment
  • Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
  • Conduct monthly analysis to make forecasts and report to Partners
  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
  • Payroll processing
  • Review and make recommendations for Company insurance policies to ensure company meets all standards, and follows all applicable laws and guidelines
  • Work with third party resource to ensure all company information is protected including client info, company financials, employee information, etc.
  • Oversee Company 401k program
  • Oversee Operations Team (two full time staff)

AGENCY GENERAL

  • Handle and safeguard confidential and proprietary information
  • Effectively communicate internally and/or externally in a manner consistent with the company’s Code of Conduct and core values
  • Come to work on time without restriction as to time commitment
  • Travel when needed

Required Competencies/Skills:

  • Candidate must have 8+ years of experience in finance with 5+ years at an advertising or marketing agency
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to translate analysis into actionable strategy
  • Above average time management skills
  • Work well under pressure; meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to think ahead, independently and challenge oneself to learn and grow
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software

Special Requirements/Preferences:

  • Agency experience required
  • Experience with acquisitions, mergers and VC Capital
  • Experience with Web3 including Bitcoin, ETH and NFT’s

Education Required:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or other relevant qualification bonus.
