The Senior Director, Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Corporate Functions Information Technology (IT) is a strategic technology leader representing IT and partnering with functional leadership in North America. This position is responsible for ensuring that IT systems for use in support of Supply Chain and Corporate Functions are appropriate to deliver for Kyowa Kirin and its patients, customers, and channel partners. The role will lead Supply Chain aspects of ERP and Planning systems implementations and ensure ongoing maintenance of those systems. In addition, managing relationships with key distribution and logistics vendors/partners will be key. This position will interface with global teams implementing similar systems. Further, the Senior Director will develop a Supply Chain digital strategy and ensure execution of a full and modern set of tools and practices to support our suppliers and customers. This includes internal IT, 3PL, logistics carriers, global manufacturing & supply chain, data visualization, serialization, blockchain, value added services, and customers/patients. The role will also be a key contributor to the Value Creation Process via the management of capital, functional capability building, and Operations focus.
Essential Functions
- Business Partnership: Actively participates in the Logistics/Supply Chain strategy and related execution plans. This includes partnering with North America IT and Global IT to create a North America Supply Chain Systems Strategy and creation of business case to justify the strategy and related investments. Also, interfaces heavily with Commercial and Finance stakeholders and properly transitions activities and responsibilities from those entities (as appropriate) to the evolving NA Supply Chain team.
- Management: Responsible for the successful implementation and subsequent maintenance and use of ERP system in North America. This includes oversight of the necessary supporting elements that enable successful use of the system; this includes master data, customer data, supplier data, data warehouses, data interfaces, and linkages to planning applications for Demand Planning, MRP, Supply Planning, and plan visualization. Responsible for Master Data, Systemsand Operational excellence plans to ensure that benefits expected from related investments and improvements are achieved. - Digital Foundation: Define a supply chain digital strategy to drive technology evolution/alignment and integration of our business with patients, customers, suppliers, distributors, and internal company locations.
- Process Automation: Work with Supply Chain operations to identify candidates for process automation and improvement. As systems come on-line, responsible for implementing excellent interfaces to automate any possible aspects of supply chain management.
- Risk Management: Create & manage tracking, monitoring & mitigation efforts related to Data & System Security
- Strategy & Execution: Creates business cases and recommends investments in improvement opportunities and/or technologies to enable/ensure scalability of processes for a high-growth business with expanding geographic reach and ensures appropriate change management and communication to enable system adoption as systems come online. Oversees and monitors cost plans and functional budget details and connects with overall financial budget to ensure availability of funding for key investments/initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, IT/Management Systems, or Supply Chain required. Graduate degree in a related field is preferred.
- 15 years of experience in IT & Supply Chain is required. Multi-function experience (IT, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) is a preferred.
- Pharma/Biotech experience is required.
- Multi-Industry experience is also a plus.
- Relevant Operational and Supply Chain cross-regional or global experience is a plus.
- Strong ability to “zoom in and zoom out” - depending on the problem to be solved/managed at that particular.
- Can manage managers – but also is close enough to have specific points of view on problems and their solutions.
- Experience in digital supply/logistics applications is preferred.
- Experience in project management and overseeing successful business reviews and relationship management teams is required.
- Experience in enabling implementation of and use of ERP and advanced planning systems (Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, for example) is required.
- Experience in leading deployment of Excellence initiatives, such as Lean and Six Sigma Logistics and/or regional/global setting is preferred. Excellent business and strategic acumen – and ability to manage expanding levels of complexity is required.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Highly motivated and great attention to detail.
- Strong endurance to work under tight timelines and complex/changing situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Broad level of interpersonal skills and flexibility.
