The Department: Security

The Role: Security Technical Program Management Intern

As a member of our Information Security Technical Program Management team, you will contribute to risk reduction by improving the visibility and predictability of project delivery across one or more of our program areas. During a 10‑week project, you will own and deliver an initiative designed to evaluate and optimize our current project management workflows, identify process gaps, and implement enhancements that drive operational effectiveness. You may develop automation and data‑driven insights to streamline our processes, ensuring projects are managed efficiently and executed predictably. You will produce tangible outcomes that transform our security initiatives—from enhanced project definition and tracking to more consistent delivery—and contribute to greater operational clarity and reliability across the team.

This will be a 10-week internship program this summer starting the second week of June.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a 10‑week initiative to evaluate and optimize current project management workflows, identify process gaps, and implement enhancements that drive operational effectiveness.
  • Develop solutions that may incorporate AI/ML and automation to address operational challenges and maximize efficiency.
  • Build actionable dashboards and reporting views using existing digital tools to provide clear insights into key security metrics, including risk levels, compliance status, and project progress.
  • Enhance process and risk management by collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to capture and analyze risk data, and design tools or processes that address risks effectively and predictably.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and training materials to ensure consistent adoption and scalability of new processes and automation solutions across the team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related engineering discipline (e.g., Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Software Engineering).
  • Advanced coursework or project experience demonstrating proficiency in process automation, data integration, and the use of digital tools—such as scripting languages (e.g., Python), REST APIs, and platforms like Jira.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a proven ability to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive process improvements and support decision‑making.
  • Strong interest or experience in risk management and the application of strategic process improvements within technical program management or security operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • A proactive, agile‑oriented mindset, with a track record of collaborative problem‑solving and strategic thinking in dynamic environments.

Pay Rate: The hourly pay rate for this role is $38/hour in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

In the United States, we have a flexible hybrid work policy for employees who live within 30 miles of our office headquartered in New York City and our office in Seattle. Employees within the New York and Seattle metropolitan areas are expected to work from the designated office twice a week, unless there is a job-specific requirement to be in the office every workday. Employees outside of these areas are considered part of our remote-first workforce. We believe our hybrid approach for those near our NYC and Seattle offices increases productivity through more in-person collaboration where possible.

At Gemini, we strive to build diverse teams that reflect the people we want to empower through our products, and we are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. Equal Opportunity is the Law, and Gemini is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. If you have a specific need that requires accommodation, please let a member of the People Team know.
