Our Blockchain Innovation Team Manager fulfills the role of leader for the day-to-day activities of an advanced technology team at Securrency’s Abu Dhabi office. This individual provides a wide variety of duties related to the ability of the team to meet and exceed goals, improve productivity, introduce positive culture, and maximize the capabilities of the team. They will quickly identify and amends issues with support from HR and leadership. This serves as the liaison between the team members, the c-suite communicating and balancing the needs of both sides in a structured, productive way. Responsible for delivering client value within the agreed timeframe and budget. Understand the client’s unique situation and develop deliverables that exceed expectations. You will ideate and provide an innovative business solution to our clients. Perform complex analyses to support business case realization while keeping the broader perspective in mind. They will work in a technology-inspired and innovative environment in which they identify what is required to solve client challenges and build and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management, product teams, and other key stakeholders to build a long-term technology and product roadmap
• Manage team goals, project timelines, and delivery dates while ensuring proper allocation of resources and budgets within the team

• Execute work within the broader team and across the Engineering department

• Lead and develop a team of talented and high-impact engineers, providing cultural, technical, and hands-on leadership

• Guide and manage remote teams and contractors, including integrating them into the practices and workflows of the on-site team

• Accountable to and driving accountability for KPIs about service health and uptime, software quality, and test coverage
• Provide effective feedback using goal-setting (OKRs) and regular performance reviews
• Shape best practices for your team in engineering design and usability, leading by example

• Drive a rigorous practice of thorough documentation and knowledge sharing, with a culture based on goals and measurable outcomes

• Manage and resolve escalations arising from operations and work with various teams to solve problems

• Work closely with company leadership to identify upcoming opportunities and risks

• Grow and mentor engineers by actively shaping a culture of open communication, craftsmanship, ownership, and accountability

• Provide architectural direction for the design, development, and integration of the various components that power our Securrrency's technology and infrastructure

• Align teams to broader company objectives and client expectations

• Work closely with company leadership to identify upcoming opportunities and risks

• 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer

• 3+ years in a managerial role leading engineers

• Excellent knowledge of the various blockchain protocols and strategies around cryptocurrency-based financial services software

• Significant experience building blockchain indexing software

• Experience with architectural patterns of large, high-volume applications

• Understanding of business goals and strategy and how that drives direction within an engineering department

• Experience to balance business requirements from various independent stakeholders with problems that impede work execution and delivery while driving the highest ROI initiatives

• Translate a complex arrangement of software components into a cohesive architecture that yields clean, efficient, and highly maintainable code

• Shipped multiple projects and services to large scale consumers

• Demonstrated experience managing and leading development teams

• Proven experience sourcing and hiring top engineering talent, including managerial talent

Travel

• Located in Abu Dhabi

• 2-5 times a year to an office in North Carolina
