Web3 Cost Controller

The Cost Accountant plays a key role in building and scaling KAST. This is a high-ownership position where you’ll take responsibility for meaningful work from day one, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help turn ambitious goals into real-world outcomes.

• Track, analyze, and report operational and product costs across the business, including blockchain, infrastructure, vendor, and transaction-related costs
• Build and maintain cost allocation models for on-chain and off-chain activities, products, and business lines
• Monitor and analyze unit economics (e.g. cost per transaction, user, wallet, chain, product)
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations to understand cost drivers such as cloud usage, nodes, gas fees, vendors, and tooling
• Prepare monthly cost reporting, variance analysis, and budget vs. actuals reviews
• Support pricing, margin analysis, and profitability for new and existing products
• Ensure accurate expense classification in line with IFRS / US GAAP, including crypto-specific considerations
• Partner with HR and Finance on payroll oversight, salary benchmarking, headcount cost tracking, and overall people cost control to support sustainable growth.
• Support vendor cost management, contract reviews, and cost optimization initiatives
• Assist with audits, tax, and regulatory reporting by providing cost and supporting data
• Improve and automate cost tracking, reporting, and dashboards
• Collaborate with Finance and Compliance on controls, documentation, and governance

• Experience as a Cost Accountant or similar role in tech, fintech, crypto, or any high-growth environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, variance analysis, and unit economics
• Familiarity with crypto or blockchain cost structures (on-chain fees, infrastructure, custody, vendors)
• Solid knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
• Ability to work cross-functionally and translate complex cost drivers into clear insights
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
• Strong ownership mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
