Web3 CTO & Co-Founder

Project Overview: 

The Open Sports Network is a start-up which looks to provide the User with Web 3 tools to create open systems for gaming and sports.  The project will provide on-chain and off-chain tooling for systems including the creation of DAO templates, governance tooling, a Web 3 streaming platform, a token funding portal, a token exchange, and token marketplace.  The tooling will provide the fan with unrestricted access to the sport through a user-controlled streaming experience and a content marketplace.  The tooling will provide team founders and investors mechanisms to incubate and raise funds for new teams and for existing teams tooling to raise funds for player recruitment and team infrastructure.  

Job Overview: 

Looking for a high-level engineer and co-founder with experience in Web 2 and Web 3 architecture to design and manage the vision of the Project.  The project involves a diverse set of products and tools and requires a talented executive who can architect a cohesive product with hybrid on-chain and off-chain characteristics.  From making key architectural decisions and translating the project requirements into technical specifications, recruiting and mentoring a high-performing engineering team, you’ll be the key technical lead for the project.  As a start-up, we need someone who can roll up their sleeves and take on the ground-up development of the MVP and a strong leader to manage the complicated development of a high-level, market-ready product.  Remote work, ideally located on the U.S. west coast to  allow short access to occasional in-person meetings. 

**The Project is in a pre-funding phase.  This is a co-founder position with equity participation, not an employment offering.  Equity participation between 20% and 30% and estimated beginning salary to be between $100,000 to $150,000- exact equity and salary compensation to be determined upon funding of Project.** 

Key Responsibilities: 

- Define technical roadmap and product architecture in collaboration with the founding team. 

- Lead the platform's end-to-end development process. 

- Uphold coding standards to write high-quality, scalable, and well-tested code. 

- Contribute to framework, tool, and technology decisions. 

- Incorporate best-in-class security methods to ensure system integrity. 

- Optimize system design and performance. 

- Recruit and manage a top-tier engineering team. 

- Develop and maintain consumer-facing web applications. 

- Build out and maintain off-chain infrastructure. 

- Drive user adoption through best-in-class product experiences. 

- Review code internally, and mentor and guide team members. 

- Leadership skills, experience managing and mentoring a team of engineers 

 

Qualifications: 

- Experience in building cross-platform full-stack products. 

- Experience recruiting and leading a team with a successful product launch 

- A diverse experience in programming languages- C++, Python, Rust, Java.. 

- Deep understanding of web technologies and app architectures. 

- Understanding of compression and the latest streaming technologies 

- Track record of delivering complex projects. 

- High level of ownership, accountability, and meticulous attention to detail. 

- Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. 

- Passion for blockchain, DeFi, and Web3 technologies. 

- Effective leadership and mentoring skills 

- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think critically and independently. 

- Excellent communication skills and a knack for collaborative remote work. 

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. 

 

Nice to have: 

- Experience with start-ups and fundraising 

- A passion for sports or esports 

- Ideally located in the western United States for occasional in-person meetings
