Web3 DeFi & DAO Research Analyst

Position Description

Chaos Lab's mission is to secure the future of finance. We’re looking for a passionate DeFi & DAO Research Analyst who can help us better understand and analyze the protocols we work with.

At Chaos Labs, we’re developing a cloud security platform for DeFi (Decentralized Finance) protocols through run-time simulations. We work with protocols to automate economic security, risk management, parameter selection optimization, and battle test protocols through the most chaotic (🤗) market conditions. Our platform and tools are used by leading protocols, helping them manage and secure over 50 Billion in assets.

Chaos Labs was founded by ex-Facebook, Apple, Instagram, Amazon, and Microsoft engineers, being 8200 (Israeli Cyber Intelligence) and Technion alumni. We’re looking for curious, hungry people to join the team and help define the security and risk stack of the future.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research and market analysis on DeFi and governance systems to help inform company-wide strategy.
• Publish relevant research in public forums and draft key proposals for community response
• Support sales team in customer diligence and sector strategy.
• Collaborate closely with product, data scientists, and engineers to build highly-relevant simulation tooling for protocol customers.
• Live in and monitor forums and Discord channels to discover new opportunities for Chaos Labs.
• Act as the point of contact between the company and major DAO foundations and communities to understand how Chaos Labs can better support the protocols.

Requirements

• 1+ year of deep DeFi participation (yield farming, DAO participation, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of the inner-working of DeFi protocols and where Chaos Labs simulation tooling can be most impactful
• Demonstrated experience (& excitement for) working in self-managed, fast-paced environments.
• No degree needed, we are open to Interns for the right candidate.
• Excellent written communication skills, ability to explain complex topics in a clear way to both crypto-native and novice audiences.
• Ability / desire to work in and move to New York.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience and broad network at a web3 company.
• Technical degree in engineering, math, computer science, economics or similar.
• Experience working with data-oriented products.
• You love working in small, dynamic, fast-paced teams that encourage you to learn and grow.
• You are passionate about using your experience and expertise to inspire the team.
