About This Role

How will millions of internet users benefit from a new decentralized web? As Senior Cloud Architect, you’ll be instrumental in scaling the NFT revolution to hundreds of millions of people. Your efforts will help empower our community as they invent the future of media, gaming, music and more using the Metaplex Protocol. And, you’ll protect their interests by defining ownership using NFTs on web3.

Because of your position on the engineering team, the Metaplex Team will look to you to understand our code base, map out what’s possible, and contribute to roadmap discussions. You’ll work closely with ecosystem developers and Metaplex Studios internal teams. The choice is yours! Travel to developer events to evangelize Metaplex (ie, Art Basel Miami) or Solana Hacker Houses or meet with VIP partners in gaming, sports, and media. The team will support you, and we’re excited for where the adventure takes you!

What You'll Do

• Scale Metaplex and NFT solutions to hundreds of millions of people. You’ll be the team leader for things like cloud-based development, design of data flows, utilization of cloud resources, managing environments, improving our development processes, and distributed systems.
• Partner cross-functionally on product evolution from ideation, design, architecting systems, and process. Product, Partnerships, Community, and Ecosystem Teams will look to you to map out what’s possible and provide critical feedback to the roadmap.
• You’ll hold the team to a high quality standard through development of reliable services, unit tests, and deployment process for business-critical activities.
• As a senior engineer, you’re comfortable being a team lead and creating project plans with defined tasks that can be delegated to partner engineering teams or junior team members.
• Collaborate with the Metaplex community by listening to their feedback.
• Stay abreast of new developments in the areas of cloud technology, services, and networking.

• 5+ years of experience doing cloud engineering work with knowledge of Python, Go, Rust, Javascript, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and cloud services (ie, AWS, Google Cloud). A four year degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) is also preferred but not required.
• You are passionate about information security, infrastructure, uptime, and decentralized systems. Others on the engineering team look to you for guidance in these areas.
• You embody a security-first mindset, adhering to best-in-class security policies, and best practice implementations; proficiency with cloud-based security tools such as IAM and KMS. You spend time to educate yourself on updates in security.
• You are an expert in managing multiple AWS environments spanning teams, support development, and work with counterparts across the Metaplex / Solana ecosystem to unify cloud engineering efforts.
• You are experience with establishing highly-available and fault-tolerant big data environments in the cloud.
• You excel at communication including creating written documentation that conveys technical solutions and are experienced at running stand ups. You enjoy communicating engineering concepts to Product, Partnerships, Community, and Marketing teams.
• You care about the quality of systems and will pitch-in to help debug and fix performance issues when the situation calls for it.
• You’re passionate about crypto and NFTs and always willing to learn!
