NEAR is hiring a
Web3 Director of PMO

Compensation: $63k - $90k estimated

Location: NY New York City, New York, United States

As the Director of PMO, you will build, own and drive all program management needs and activities across NEAR Foundation and the ecosystem. You will be responsible for establishing a program management discipline, including launching consistent methodology, best practices, and processes/systems to enable it. The right candidate will have the ability to coordinate timelines, contingencies, and dependencies of work plans as well as communicate progress and drive decision-making across a decentralized Web3 community. While the initial focus of the role is on establishing the discipline of delivery at the NEAR Foundation, the long-term challenge is scaling that same culture across the distributed teams building projects on the platform as well.

This position will report to the Head of Product for NEAR Foundation.

You'll

  • Develop and lead the project/program management office (PMO). You will drive consistency and oversight of projects across NEAR Foundation by developing and maintaining project management methodologies, standards, and tools, plus you will create consistent higher-level management of ongoing strategic initiatives and programs for the foundation and ecosystem
  • Establish our approach to delivering discrete projects and ongoing programs, including everything from project planning, initiation, resourcing and execution to monitoring, control, and completion
  • Ensure the PMO meets OKRS, goals, and objectives. Align with the foundation’s strategic objectives and adhering to best practices.
  • Recruit an exceptional group of program managers and project managers and bring them together as a high-performance team
  • Own and drive the PMO's cadence to ensure initiatives are managed adequately and resources are appropriately applied to projects
  • Define and drive the strategy for program management tools, training, and methodologies
  • Work with leaders and peers to gain alignment on ownership, strategy and execution
  • Drive collaboration and coordination with various functions or efforts with key stakeholder to facilitate the planning process

You have:

  • A history of getting things done in complex environments. You can influence others, implement change and standardize processes
  • A self-starter mentality, yet are a team player with a collaborative approach
  • Tenacity, with the emotional intelligence to know when to push harder and when to look for alternative approaches
  • Experience with proven leadership skills gained through a successful track record in executing on high visibility and mission-critical projects and programs
  • Expertise at hiring, mentoring, and leading high-performance teams

We value:

  • ECOSYSTEM-FIRST: always put the health and success of the ecosystem above any individual's interest.
  • OPENNESS: operate transparently and consistently share knowledge to build open communities.
  • PRAGMATISM OVER PERFECTION: find the right solution not the ideal solution and beat dogmatism by openly considering all ideas.
  • MAKE IT FEEL SIMPLE: strive to make the complex feel simple so the technology is accessible to all.
  • GROW CONSTANTLY: learn, improve and fail productively so the project and community are always becoming more effective.
