Web3 Finance Engineering Analyst

As Cake’s Finance Engineering Analyst, you’ll join the Finance Team and help Cake makes sound financial decisions. Specifically, you will ensure the integrity and accuracy of Cake financial numbers, by ensuring that such numbers are extracted from the database correctly. You will participate in the budgeting process and help to develop financial models and generate relevant financial reports for management. You will help to automate the accounting process and the finance report generation, whether be it generated from accounting database and/or back-end operation database. You will be self-starter and a go-getter who embraces all opportunities to learn and add value. You thrive working in a challenging, fast-paced environment and are willing to roll up your sleeves, collaborate, share knowledge, and get things done.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate the report generation process and ensuring the integrity of the financial numbers
• Support and manage the budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning process
• Track and monitor actual KPIs and financial performance against budget / forecast and provide insights into opportunities and risks to the business teams in a timely manner
• Develop financial models and build business cases to evaluate new business ideas
• In charge of certain month end close activities, in particular, dealing with BI team to obtain quality data for month end close purposes, i.e. accounting schedule and accounting postings
• Preparation and upkeep of proper audit/balance sheet schedules
• Prepare internal and external reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Support on audit & compliance work
• Help with automation of accounting daily process
• Work with other teams to improve overall processes
• Work on other accounting assignments

Qualifications / Experiences

• Sharp problem-solving skill set; able to put structure to ambiguous problems and drive insights
• Able to read and code javascript
• Advanced analytical and technical (Financial Modelling/SQL/Data Viz/Sequelize/Postgresql) skills working with large volumes of complex data
• Passion for crypto industry
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with a demonstrable bias towards action and execution
• Enjoys high-growth environments, and approaches challenges with a growth mindset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Accounting knowledge would be nice to have but not necessary
• A plus if have experience on accounting system roll-out
