The Role - What will you be doing?

The Financial Controller will work closely with the Head of Finance to implement robust financial controls and deliver accurate monthly reporting.

The role requires experience in financial services (including VAT) and of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platforms (ideally NetSuite) including the use of approval workflows to manage and control key processes.

The role requires a highly organised person that has experience putting process/control structures in place in a high growth business that frequently changes.

They will have regular interaction with the CFO, the Head of Risk as well as all members of the Finance team.

The role suits someone who is fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with ~5 years experience in financial services

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage all accounting processes - order to cash, procure to pay, payroll, record to report.
  • Deliver and improve accurate monthly reporting.
  • Sign-off balance sheet substantiation reports.
  • Sign-off partial recovery VAT returns.
  • Design, implement and document the processes and controls.
  • Manage a team of 4+ accountants across geographical locations.
  • Manage the annual external audit.
  • Manage GAAP/accounting policies across legal entities/jurisdictions.
  • Assist with FP & A when required
  • Produce ad-hoc reports as and when required by the CFO and other ExCo members
  • Undertake any prescribed training, either formal or on the job, as. required by BCB Group

So, what are we looking for?

If you can demonstrate some of the following experience/skills below, we would love to have a conversation.

  • 5+ years PQ ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent) or QBE in financial control.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an organised methodical approach to tasks.
  • Willingness to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment with ad-hoc demands.
  • Experience managing and developing exceptional teams that deliver.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more ERP platforms, ideally Netsuite, and productivity tools.
  • Strong technical skills (accounting, tax, notably VAT, regulation) in a financial services.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Average 3+ days/week office attendance.
