Founding Web3 & AI Engineer – Solidity & LLM Integration

YAP is seeking an engineer with expertise in Solidity smart contract development, Web3 engineering, and AI integration to lead the development of YAP, an onchain language learning app. This role is critical in building a next-generation, blockchain-powered, AI-enabled education platform. You will take ownership of the technical roadmap, integrating mobile development, blockchain tokenomics, and AI-driven features into a seamless, user-centric experience. This is a remote role (with a preference for NYC-based candidates) offered initially on a 60-day contract. It has the potential to transition into a full-time position with equity once additional capital is raised. Please note that this is a super early-stage startup. Compensation is limited due to the grant we received to build out the product.

Responsibilities:

• Mobile & Web Development: Architect, design, and implement the YAP mobile application using modern frameworks (React Native, Ionic, or similar) to deliver a native-like experience across iOS and Android.
• Blockchain Integration: Develop and integrate smart contracts and blockchain components (with a focus on the Sei blockchain) for secure, transparent token reward distribution, wallet integration, and staking mechanisms.
• AI & Speech Recognition: Implement AI-driven features such as speech recognition, natural language processing, and chatbots to support adaptive learning and real-time feedback.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with CEO and related stakeholders to translate curriculum requirements and gamification best practices into scalable technical solutions.
• Performance & Security: Ensure high performance, scalability, and security across the platform by writing clean, maintainable code and following industry best practices.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues to maintain a seamless user experience.
• Innovation: Stay current with emerging trends in blockchain, AI, and mobile development to continuously enhance the platform.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven, hands-on experience in Solidity smart contract development and Web3 engineering.
• Mobile Development: Proven expertise in developing mobile applications using React Native, Ionic, or similar frameworks.
• Blockchain Proficiency: Hands-on experience in blockchain development and smart contract integration; familiarity with Sei blockchain or EVM-compatible platforms is a significant plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong background in backend development, API integrations, and cloud platforms. Experience with decentralized applications (dApps) is essential.
• AI & ML Exposure: Experience with AI technologies, especially in speech recognition, natural language processing, or chatbot development.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with strong collaboration skills; NYC-based candidates are preferred.
• Bonus: Prior experience in edtech, gamified learning solutions, or building decentralized applications (dApps).
• Portfolio: Showcase prior projects or demonstrable experience in Solidity and AI integrations.

Contract Details:

• Type: Remote position (NYC preferred)
• Compensation: $4,000 - $8,000 per month
• Engagement: 60-day contract with the potential to convert to full-time employment with equity upon successful capital raised.
