Convex Labs is hiring a Web3 Fullstack / Platform Engineer
Compensation: $45k - $72k estimated
Location: remote
This role will be focused on the first product Convex is going to market with (currently named “Aineko”).
What you’ll do
As a Fullstack / Platform Engineer, you’ll...
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services and APIs for our data infrastructure platform.
Implement front-end user interfaces using modern web technologies and frameworks.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, adhering to best practices and standards.
Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help maintain a high level of code quality across the team.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, bugs, and other technical challenges.
Develop and maintain clear documentation and engineering standards for the platform, ensuring that it is accessible and understandable for both freelance and internal engineers.
Act as a technical point of contact for engineers building on top of the platform, providing guidance, support, and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between freelance and internal engineers, ensuring that everyone is aligned on project goals, requirements, and timelines.
Organize and lead technical workshops and training sessions for engineers joining the team or working with the platform.
Continuously gather feedback from engineers using the platform to identify areas for improvement, and work with the team to implement those improvements.
Work on cutting edge technologies with our modern technology stack to achieve ambitious goals in creative ways.
Solve challenging problems with ownership on solutions to large-scale challenges typically found only in billion-dollar companies.

- A high degree of responsibility and autonomy
- Intimate access to learn from and work with some renowned and influential stakeholders in Web3 (Convex advisors and investors, founders of Convex portfolio companies, etc.)
Requirements and skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, preferably within the data infrastructure or blockchain industries.
- Strong knowledge of backend technologies, such as Python (required), Node.js, Java, or similar.
- Experience with frontend development using modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Proficiency in database technologies, such as SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and experience in deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and familiarity with continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a strong focus on performance optimization.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Experienced and comfortable with remote team dynamics, process, and tools (Slack, Zoom, etc.)
- Experience leading teams with clear communication skills
- Ability to work independently, and take responsibility and pride over your work

- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to engineers with varying levels of expertise
- You have a track record of creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and engineering standards
- You have experience with project management tools and methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum, to facilitate collaboration and ensure timely delivery of high-quality features and improvements
- You have a proactive and empathetic approach to problem-solving, with a focus on understanding the needs of engineers working with the platform and helping them succeed
- You have general experience participating in the web3 ecosystem
- You have an ability to work well within a culturally diverse and distributed team
- You’re hungry, smart, talented, and collaborative
- You’re a self-starter with the attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
