Web3 Senior Software Engineer - Hedging & Pricing Systems

A pragmatic problem solver who’s comfortable working without perfect specs and enjoys reasoning about flows, trade-offs, and system behavior. You think logically, iterate fast, and take ownership of what you build. You’re adaptive to shifting priorities and focus on getting things done rather than waiting for ideal conditions.

You'll be working on

A hedging and pricing system that calculates competitive cross-rates between hundreds of currencies and decides how transactions should be executed and hedged. It aggregates prices and liquidity from global financial markets, enabling efficient pricing and conversion across exchanges, banks, and brokerage partners. You’ll help build this system from the ground up, with a high level of ownership and freedom to shape how it evolves. This role plays a key part in Gravity Team’s mission to revolutionize global payment infrastructure by enabling blockchain-based alternatives to traditional payment flows.

What you will do

• Build and extend a backend system that processes conversion requests, deciding how and where those conversions should happen
• Develop and maintain API integrations with exchanges, banks, and brokerage partners
• Work on core system logic: calculating prices, comparing available options, and choosing the best execution path
• Prototype solutions quickly, test them in real conditions, and iterate.
• Investigate issues, fix edge cases, and improve system behavior as new scenarios appear.
• Gradually take ownership of this system, laying the foundation for a new service team within our comprehensive trading infrastructure.

What we expect

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing IT projects
• Track record of successfully building & maintaining complex backend systems (deep tech products, backend systems with deep business logic, algorithms, financial applications, etc.)
• Solid technical knowledge in programming concepts and languages
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to validate cause-and-effect relationships
• Strong hands-on experience in multiple backend programming languages & frameworks (Python and Rust are a plus)
• Fast, versatile, and iterative mindset; you enjoy figuring things out as you go and don’t get frustrated by changing requirements or incomplete plans.
• Knowledge & working experience with algorithms is a plus
• Experience with hedge funds, fintechs, or similar organizations is a plus
• Experience in crypto & blockchain is a plus
• Experience in financial engineering is a plus
• Results in Math, Physics, Informatics, Chemistry, or Economics Olympiads are a plus
