Anchorage Digital’s trading business offers institutional clients advanced trading tools, 24/7 support, and access to deep liquidity across hundreds of assets. In this role, you will specifically support the operational and settlement aspects of the principal trading business. As a Member of Trading Operations, Technical Ops, you will play a critical role in overseeing post-trade processes and settlement across digital assets. Beyond supporting the daily trade flow, the role calls for a builder’s mentality - identifying inefficiencies, uncovering pain points, and developing automated workflows at scale. This position requires a strong understanding of trading operations, blockchain technology, and technical tooling to evolve the middle/back office at speed. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of process and tooling—someone who can own day-to-day operations while asking, “what can we automate?” You bring SQL fluency, scripting instincts, and a collaborative mindset to help bridge trading operations and engineering, working across institutional crypto flows in a fast-paced environment.
We have created the Factors of Growth & Impact to help Villagers better measure impact and articulate coaching, feedback, and the rich and rewarding learning that happens while exploring, developing, and mastering the capabilities and contributions within and outside of the Member of Trading Operations, Technical Ops role:
Technical Skills:
- Execute and oversee the end-to-end processing of trading operations for institutional clients, including receiving, verifying, and reviewing transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile trading and settlement data across systems and blockchain explorers, and monitor the activity of various digital assets and fiat currencies.
- Familiarity with financial accounting principles related to crypto asset movement, and experience generating useful reporting artifacts.
- Partner with Engineering and Product teams to advocate for process tooling and modular event-handling.
- Experience with version control workflows (e.g., Git/GitHub) to collaborate on internal tooling and document automation efforts.
- Comfort writing and maintaining lightweight scripts or queries (e.g., Python, SQL) to reduce manual intervention across reconciliation, reporting tasks, or to streamline operational workflows.
- Ability to prototype operational tools and dashboards—and iterate based on stakeholder feedback.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Manage the nuances of trading activity across decentralized and centralized venues, ensuring accurate and timely settlements.
- Solve trade discrepancies, prioritize competing demands, and monitor risk exposure while maintaining daily momentum.
- Deliver internal presentations or lead projects to reduce manual dependencies.
- Operate with strong autonomy and demonstrate clear judgment when balancing risk, velocity, and scale.
- Support global operational coverage, including rotational weekend/holiday shifts.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Stay current with crypto industry trends, evolving regulatory frameworks, and operational best practices.
- Map and document internal settlement workflows and lifecycle touchpoints.
- Collaborate across teams—including Trading, Engineering, Compliance, and Risk - to improve operational clarity and reduce single points of failure.
- Understand the strategic goals of institutional clients, and support the execution of those goals through precise operational support.
Communication and Influence:
- Translate operational pain points into technical requests or architectural feedback.
- Mentor team members in tools, workflows, and lifecycle logic.
- Drive thoughtful discussions to improve processes, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Forge relationships with key partners across Anchorage.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and operational curiosity
- Fluency in SQL, Excel, and ideally basic scripting (Python a plus)
- 2+ years of experience supporting institutional trading workflows
- Knowledge of blockchain protocols, wallet structures, staking, governance, or related verticals
- A keen ability to adapt quickly as business strategies evolve and products scale
- A drive to improve systems incrementally, without waiting for perfection
Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
- You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
