About CoinDesk Indices

CoinDesk Indices are the industry standard for institutional single- and multi-asset benchmarks for crypto assets. The flagship CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index (XBX) has been in operation continuously since 2014. Financial institutions rely on the XBX and other CoinDesk Indices products to benchmark billions of dollars in assets under management and to price hundreds of millions in over-the-counter transactions, daily.

CoinDesk Indices(CDI) is seeking an Index Research Analyst to gather data and conduct research related to cryptocurrencies and digital assets. This research will be crucial in supporting the CDI Digital Asset Classification Standard (DACS), as well as developing the world’s leading cryptocurrency index offerings s and supporting them with research content. Prospective candidates should possess the following skills and attributes:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct monthly review of the classification of top digital assets
• Research on digital assets and articulate how they work and what they do.
• Gather and analyze crypto related data and monitor key trends in the crypto market
• Gather competitive intelligence on crypto funds and client demand for idea generation
• Help the senior research analyst develop research content supporting existing and new indices
• Provide input to research and Index Committee meeting discussions and recommendations.

ABOUT YOU:

• 3+ years of experience researching cryptocurrencies & digital assets.
• Strong familiarity with a range of crypto-centric research & analytics resources.
• Extensive familiarity with most of the top 100 cryptocurrencies.
• Strong awareness of current and emerging trends, use cases, and challenges.
• Strong understanding of, and experience with on-chain protocols, such as various dApps.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Must demonstrate passion and curiosity with respect to the digital asset space.
• Must be open-minded and eager to participate in weekly digital asset related discussions.
• Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complicated concepts.
• Eagerness to provide thoughts and insights across the digital asset space.
• Ability to multi-task and contribute to key initiatives.

PREFERRED:

• Previous experience trading & managing an investment portfolio.
• Previous role researching and analyzing cryptocurrencies.
• Technical knowledge of blockchain technology and smart contracts.
• Knowledge of important figures, companies, and developers in the digital asset space.
• Knowledge of significant historical events in the digital asset space.
• Programming experience including Python.
