Lumida is a venture-backed, digitally-native investment advisor mandated for digital asset and alternative investment portfolios. We are a growing team of seasoned operating executives and investment professionals with offices in Boston, New York City, and Miami. Our backers include former SEC Chairman Arthur Levitt, as well as the seed investors in Ribbit Capital, MultiCoin, and Robinhood.


We are seeking to hire an Investment Analyst/Associate to research individual tokens and investment themes in the digital asset space. We are targeting a start date at the candidate’s earliest convenience.


Your Department

Lumida’s Chief Investment Office (“CIO”) is responsible for the development and implementation of investment strategies for private and institutional clients. The CIO comprises two groups: Digital Assets (“DA”) and Alternative Investments (“Alts”). Our Digital Assets team manages separate accounts of digital assets while the Alts team is focused on Web3 investment opportunities through venture funds and hedge funds. The GM of Wealth oversees all activities and employees within the CIO and is currently seeking an Analyst/Associate to join the Digital Assets group.


Role

The Analyst/Associate will research individual tokens and investment themes in digital assets. The individual will primarily drive value for clients by publishing insightful and actionable investment research that informs the construction of their digital asset portfolios. The role will collaborate closely with our Advisory Group by servicing as a subject matter expert in digital assets.


Responsibilities

Digital Asset Investment Research

  • Publish investment memorandums, thematic investment research, evergreen content, and regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews and outlooks
  • Underwrite individual tokens using fundamental and quantitative frameworks for valuing and projecting the performance of public and private companies
  • Analyze historical trading and sentiment data to identify drivers of long-term performance in the sector, digital asset sub-sectors, and for individual tokens
  • Communicate insights to client teams and, in some instances, directly to clients
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of all crypto sectors, market conditions, industry news, tokenomics, token mechanics, and regulations
  • Stay abreast of crypto trends via social media, newsletters, events, etc.
  • Organize and lead webinars and other events to share our research insights with clients, prospects, and industry

People & Culture

  • Support recruiting activities, such as writing job descriptions, conducting live interviews, and designing and administering case studies
  • Join company-wide offsites on a quarterly basis, as well as ad hoc company events at local office
  • Participate in employee-guided learning opportunities, events
  • Lumia will also fund and encourage support for the CFA, CAIA, and other professional designations

Qualifications

  • Neverending drive for excellence and top-1-percentile performance (*this quality is required for every employee at Lumida)
  • Crypto-native with experience analyzing investments in traditional asset classes. Familiarity with analytical tools such as Dune Analytics, Messari, Token Terminal
  • Extensive knowledge of finance, investments, and digital assets is required
  • Advanced skills required in Excel . Nice to have: experience in a functional programming languages (e.g. Python, SQL, R)
  • Ability to produce high-quality research reports, investment memos, presentations, and other publications with acute attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (*a written case study may be administered during the interview process)
  • Ability to synthesize complex topics and provide concise summaries
  • A deep passion for consuming research and synthesizing views on financial markets

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance is required
  • CFA charterholders, CAIA charterholders, and MBA graduates preferred
