Web3 KYC / AML Analyst

You will play an important role in the first line of defense. This individual will be responsible for onboarding new customers, carrying out reviews of existing customers and monitoring for red flags associated with money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing as well as other financial crimes. A crucial part of a KYC/AML analyst is to have a deep understanding of the regulatory provisions relevant to the industry. It is important to have extensive knowledge of money laundering laws and similar pieces of legislation that may apply. 

Responsibilities

• Reviewing KYC documents for new user onboardings
• Investigating Sanction, PEP, and adverse media screening potential matches
• Reviewing customer risk scores and assessing any potential account risks 
• Managing alerts created at the onboarding and ongoing monitoring stage of the user account 
• Working cross-functionally with the Customer Support team
• Performing enhanced due diligence, including source of funds and source of wealth received 
• Carrying out periodic reviews and, where necessary collecting additional due diligence documents 
• Ensuring AML procedures are executed in line with the companies’ AML policies and procedures
• Escalate suspicious cases to the AML Manager 
• Conducting investigation (tracing off crypto transactions) on transaction monitoring alerts
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the AML Manager. 

What we want you to have

• At least 1 year of related KYC / AML experience in the financial services industry 
• Experience in the digital asset industry or with blockchain analytics providers  
• AML qualifications 
• Experience with AML software 

Nice to have

• Excellent reporting and observational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English, other languages are advantage
• Ability to apply discretion and sound decision-making skills during investigations
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects
• Well-developed IT skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Data analysis

• Focus and attention to details
• Excellent research skills and familiarity with online/offline research tools
