About the Role
As a Regulatory Compliance Manager, you will join and play an integral role within our regulatory compliance team in Australia. You will be mainly supporting the regional Compliance Manager to ensure our ongoing and future regulatory obligations under various license/registrations are fulfilled in a timely manner. You will also be working with internal and external stakeholders to help launch the Company’s new products and services in a compliant manner and to accelerate the world's transition to cryptocurrency.
- Manage our compliance programs for regulatory licenses /registrations (e.g. FSPR or Digital Currency Exchange Registration), including:
- Implement our compliance program to ensure regulatory obligations are fulfilled timely;
- Review compliance documents on a regular basis to ensure they are current and adequately reflect our businesses;
- Support the Compliance Manager to ensure complaints are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner;
Manage regulatory reporting processes:
- Monitor and review all developments within the regulatory environment of the businesses;
- Advise management on needed actions.
- Lead relevant examinations, audits and inspections from external parties, including regulators, and ensuring finds are remediated timely and appropriately;
- Assist with new license or other regulatory application;
- Support the Compliance Manager and the Product, Engineering, Security and Data teams to ensure the Company’s new products and services are developed and deployed in a compliance manner;
- Participate in Product roadmap reviews and identify new products and product offerings that may be subject to regulatory compliance;
- Prepare new product risk assessments to identify regulatory compliance risks and document recommended mitigation strategies.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role in risk and compliance in Australia.
- Experience in fin-tech or similar financial service firms will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of the applicable contemporary practices in the field of Compliance, including but not limited to understanding of regulatory matters regarding financial license and regulatory requirements.
- A reasonable understanding of our business, technical, financial and organizational structure.
- Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements of financial institutions in Australia
- Ability to support compliance deliverables with partners in the banking and financial services industry
- Ability to disseminate new regulatory information into actionable items and provide clear analysis to management
- Strong research and analytical skills on financial services regulation in Australia and globally
- Strong writing, presentation and verbal communication skill to liaise with people at all levels both inside and outside the Company.
- The ability to multi-task priorities, manage deadlines and pick up new ideas and concepts quickly.
- An inquiring mind and methodical approach with high attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
