Fun Country is hiring a Web3 Senior Frontend Engineer
Compensation: $45k - $90k estimated
Location: Austin, TX
Who we are: Fun Country is a digital game night for friends. We recreate the fun and intimacy of getting together to play games digitally with real-time audio and video. This looks like a social network for groups to get together and play timeless games on desktop, mobile, or on your Smart TV.
Poker is the first game available in Fun Country. We don't facilitate gambling, we operate legally. Instead, we facilitate FUN! It's poker like you'd play with your friends: house rules, side bets, dealer’s choice. Chinese poker, anyone? How about a replay of the look on Matt's face when Sean took all his chips. AGAIN?
The team has built and sold multiple gaming companies, including Zynga pre and post IPO. We have raised hundreds of millions of dollars in VC and are experienced operators. Our investors are some of the best in the gaming and crypto world: Angels such as Justin Waldron (co-founder of Zynga), Justin Kan (twitch.tv), Kyle Samani (Multicoin), and institutional capital such as Solana Ventures and Transcend Fund.
A little about how we work: -We are a remote-first team that is focused on bringing in the best talent in the world, regardless of geographic location. -We pay competitively and offer equity in the form of stock (and eventually vesting tokens). -Our work hours are flexible, we’re focused on accomplishing goals not time at the keyboard. -We’re real adults and have a family-friendly set of policies, we expect you to be able to pick up your kids from school. You’ll work with a diverse and international team of skilled and motivated colleagues -You’ll be given large amounts of ownership and autonomy, your work will matter
Who you are: We are looking for a Senior Frontend and Game Engineer who is ready to shape the Fun Country user experience and company, as well as lead development on a set of WebGL based social games. A background in startups, gaming, and social (or better yet all of the above!) is preferred.
Responsibilities -Work very closely with a team of senior designers and developers building a new way to play games online. -Lead the frontend development with a passion to continuously improve the user experience. -Participate in development planning and prioritization. -Listen to community feedback to identify areas of the product presenting user friction.
Skills and Qualifications -Advanced experience working with Typescript and ReactJS. -Advanced experience with modern game development and engines with a WebGL target such as Unity, PixiJS, Phaser, ThreeJS, or equivalent. -Care about agility as much as you care about scalability. We ship quickly and are looking for a team that can pivot at a moment’s notice. -Interest and enthusiasm for building gaming products. -Previous experience with WebRTC is a plus. -Previous experience with React Native is a plus.
Benefits & Perks -Competitive salary. -Large equity and token upside. -Fully paid healthcare (including dependents). -Flexible schedule and PTO. -Remote-first team with a monthly stipend to find your ideal spot.
