Web3 Smart Contract Engineer

Reporting To: Head of Engineering

Opyn is pioneering DeFi-native derivatives and options infrastructure in DeFi. We believe that building an inclusive, fair, and open financial system is a problem that will be solved with a deep understanding of crypto, finance, security-focused engineering, and genuine empathy for users.

Smart Contract Engineer is critical to the mission of building open financial systems. You will be responsible for the creation of new DeFi primitives. You will work closely with the engineering, product and research teams to build smart contracts that power the financial systems. As an early member, you’ll have a large stake in shaping the protocol and helping direct strategy and product execution.

In one year you’ll know you are successful if..

• You have written and deployed smart contracts that increased daily volume by 100 million $
• You have written bots that support our protocol operations and run with 99.9% of uptime with < 0.5% error rate
• You have collaboratively set the team OKRs and setup a metrics dashboard to track them
• You have helped take our options/squeeth infrastructure to at least two other chains

A background like this helps

• Knowledge and passion about crypto applications / Ethereum / Solana
  • Preferably DeFi
  • Preferably Solidity/EVM, we like rust/solana as well
  • Interested in L2 as well as other L1 chains
• Experience with typescript, nodejs server application
• One of the following experience
  • Smart contract engineer at a DeFi project
  • Embedded C engineer at a HFT firm or similar
  • Senior Backend engineer at a tech company and built new services from scratch
• Prior success implementing infrastructure as code
• Is excited to keep up with latest technical advancements in Ethereum development and can quickly learn how to work with services and tools even without previous experience
• Enthusiasm for Opyn's mission
