The engineering team at Chainalysis is inspired by solving the hardest technical challenges and creating products that build trust in cryptocurrencies. We’re a global organization with teams in the UK, Denmark, Canada, and the USA who thrive on the challenging work we do and doing it with other exceptionally talented teammates. Our industry changes every day and our job is to build a flexible platform that will allow us to adapt to those rapid changes.

The Engineering Leader for our Data Platform team will build and lead a team of engineers who are responsible for creating the green field internal data platform. They’ll be able to understand the nuance of different areas of the business and coach their team to build tooling and the platform that will enable the internal users of Chainalysis to utilize the power of our state of the art data capabilities. As part of this new paradigm shift, they’ll have a huge influence on the next generation architecture of Chainalysis' data pipelines.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Build, lead, and empower a team of exceptional data and DevOps engineers.

  • Establish processes, tools, and systems that will allow us to enable innovation within the Chainalysis.

  • Build a close relationship with the data producer and consumer teams to serve them the world-class developer experience by building the tools and the platform.

  • Build an understanding of our data access requirements and develop models to allow internal teams access to the right level of information they need to do their jobs.

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • Hands-on experience in software and data engineering.

  • Experience with a modern data engineering stack, using solutions such as PySpark, Databricks, Airflow, etc.

  • Collaborative and a servant leader with direct experience hiring and leading a diverse team of impactful engineers, ideally in a fast-growing startup.

  • Aren’t afraid to jump into a problem and get it sorted, even if it’s outside of your day-to-day role.

  • Excited about dealing with big data scalability problems and taking ownership of one of the most important components in Chainalysis!

  • Have an interest in cryptocurrencies or a desire to learn - we can help!
