Job Title: Smart Contract Developer – DAML Specialist
Location: New York City, NY (On-site, Monday to Friday)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Smart Contract Developer to join a team within a Global Banking & Markets division focused on building a cutting-edge platform for cross-bank settlements powered by blockchain technology. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative financial infrastructure that aims to redefine how institutions globally interact using tokenized assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop smart contracts using DAML (a smart contract language based on Haskell).
- Design and implement backend infrastructure for blockchain-based inter-bank settlement systems.
- Work with tokenized funds and financial instruments to enable secure and compliant transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate blockchain solutions into the broader banking infrastructure.
- Contribute to the platform’s regulatory-agnostic framework, ensuring seamless cross-border functionality.
- Support technical documentation, testing, and deployment processes.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with DAML (Digital Asset Modeling Language).
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Python.
- Solid understanding of blockchain technology, especially the Canton protocol.
- Experience developing smart contracts using DAML.
- Background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical disciplines.
- Prior experience working on inter-bank settlement systems or financial services infrastructure.
- Shift Timing: General business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Interview Process:
- 3 Rounds: 2 with vendor + 1 client interview (virtual)
- Background Check: Mandatory post-offer (approx. 3 weeks turnaround, includes criminal history)
- Mode of Work: On-site, 5 days per week
- Office Location: New York City, NY
- Conversion Opportunity: Potential to convert to full-time with the end client based on performance
