Web3 Associate, Global Policy Strategy

Location: Remote

About the Ethereum Foundation

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the Ethereum ecosystem in realizing the potential of Ethereum as an open, neutral infrastructure for the world. In practice, we dynamically allocate resources to critical projects when needed and step back when others can take the lead.

Role summary

We are seeking a highly capable, exceptionally organized Associate to support the Head of Global Policy Strategy across a wide range of policy, regulatory, research, and strategic initiatives. This role will be global and you will support priority engagements and assessments in whichever jurisdictions present emerging issues - whether in the US, EU, Asia, Africa, or Latin America.

This is a role for a self-starter who is comfortable working across diverse subject areas, managing fast-moving issues, and creating clarity in ambiguity. You will help drive research, prepare analysis and briefings, coordinate multi-stakeholder engagements, and ensure that the Global Policy Strategy function operates smoothly and effectively.

You will serve as a key aide and right-hand partner to the Head of Global Policy Strategy, helping to monitor global developments, prepare materials for internal and external stakeholders, and execute strategic initiatives that support the Ethereum ecosystem’s long-term resilience.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a primary operational and analytical partner to the Head of Global Policy Strategy. Supporting research, strategy development, planning, tracking, and coordination across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Monitor global regulatory and legislative developments that may impact Ethereum or decentralized technology; maintain issue trackers, bill trackers, stakeholder maps, and strategic briefings.

  • Prepare high-quality written materials (briefs, memos, summaries, analyses, talking points, primers) for EF leadership, ecosystem stakeholders, and public-facing audiences.

  • Manage cross-jurisdictional projects, ensuring timelines, workflows, and deliverables are clear and met.

  • Conduct deep-dive research in new issue areas and new geographies as priorities shift, quickly becoming conversant and producing actionable insights.

  • Coordinate global stakeholder engagement, including calls, workshops, convenings, conferences, and multi-party initiatives.

  • Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, civil-society groups, researchers, technical communities, and regional partners - not limited to Latin America.

  • Support the creation of readiness plans, risk assessments, ecosystem frameworks, and templates to help the community navigate regulatory change.

  • Draft or refine public educational materials and collaborate with communications partners to make global policy developments accessible to the Ethereum community.

  • Provide operational support to keep the Global Policy Strategy function organized: managing calendars, preparing agendas, following up on action items, and ensuring internal alignment.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more of the following:

    • public policy or regulatory analysis

    • legislative/regulatory affairs

    • political or governmental roles

    • chief-of-staff or senior advisory roles supporting strategic leadership

  • Exceptional written and spoken English; fluency in other languages, particularly Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean, is a strong bonus.

  • Strong experience synthesizing complex information and communicating it clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to self-start, manage multiple high-velocity workstreams, and maintain exceptional organization across shifting priorities.

  • Comfort working directly with senior leadership and handling sensitive or confidential issues.

  • Experience and literacy in crypto, blockchain, or Web3 required; ability to learn technical concepts quickly.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across different cultures, sectors, and levels of seniority.

  • A public-interest mindset, respect for open-source values, and enthusiasm for Ethereum’s mission.

Nice to Have

  • Law degree or formal legal training.

  • Experience engaging with regulators, standards bodies, or multi-stakeholder policy processes.

  • Experience working in global organizations with distributed teams.

  • Prior involvement in blockchain, open-source, digital rights, privacy, or technology policy organizations.

Why This Role Matters

This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of global policy and cutting-edge technology. The Global Policy Strategy team helps the Ethereum ecosystem understand and navigate emerging risks, build long-term resilience, and engage thoughtfully with policymakers and civil-society actors worldwide.

As a core partner to the Head of Global Policy Strategy, you will play a central role in shaping EF’s approach to global policy challenges, supporting critical initiatives, and strengthening the ecosystem’s ability to respond to evolving regulatory landscapes.
