DL Research is hiring a Web3 Business Development Manager

DL News Research is the premium research arm of DL News, delivering in-depth, data-driven reports on the most pressing developments in the digital asset space. With our unique access to on-chain data via our sister company DefiLlama, and our sharp editorial insights, we help clients stay ahead in crypto's most dynamic and frontier markets.
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to grow strategic relationships, build partnerships with leading Web3 companies, and drive revenue through our research reports, advertising, and bespoke content offerings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow commercial partnerships across crypto, fintech, and institutional clients
- Identify and engage potential clients for sponsorship of DL News Research country reports, custom research, and branded content
- Lead the end-to-end sales cycle — from prospecting and pitching to negotiating contracts and managing relationships
- Collaborate with editorial and research teams to tailor offerings that align with client objectives while maintaining editorial integrity
- Maintain a structured pipeline using CRM tools, and regularly report on deal flow, progress, and projections
- Represent DL News Research at crypto and fintech events (online and in-person), positioning the brand as a thought leader in the space
- Stay informed on digital asset market trends to anticipate client needs and identify new business opportunities
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or B2B sales — ideally in media, crypto, fintech, or research
- Strong network within the Web3 or digital finance industry
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Comfortable with targets, KPIs, and revenue accountability
- Interest in crypto, DeFi, and the evolving regulatory landscape
- Experience with conducting business on Telegram/X preferred
Nice to Have
- Prior experience selling research, media sponsorships, or data/analytics products
- Familiarity with DeFi protocols and onchain analytics platforms
- Willing to travel occasionally for events and meetings
