Our client is looking for a self-starting, highly motivated Sr. UX Researcher to help us establish their research practices and capabilities more formally, while retaining some measure of flexibility as they evolve.

What you’ll get to do
- Collaborate with product owners and teams to plan, oversee and deliver programs of research for product and solutions
- Deliver knowledge about users that informs how they Scope and define research objectives that are aligned with product and business goals
- Create project plans and artifacts that describeConduct evaluative and generative UX research to inform, lead, and support the creation of useful, usable, and desirable digital products across web and mobile
- Conduct in-depth research programs (such as field studies and mixed methods) that lead to deeper and farther reaching findings, insights, and new opportunities
- Create research deliverables that communicate insights and opportunities in consumable ways and support the cross-functional team
- Act as a consultant and coach to help non-researchers conduct light research using appropriate methods and facilitation techniques
- Enable product managers, designers, engineers, and others to learn and apply research skills
- Given lower research capacity, look for opportunities to combine research efforts and find ways for the value of research to go farther
- Be a part of a supportive research team driven by the opportunity to continue learning and the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of their users and customers, as well as society
- Help establish experience measurement and benchmarking across their product suite
Skills and experience they value
- Experience conducting research to inform thePassionate advocate of putting their users (who aren’t necessarily the same as their paying customers) at the heart of the work and advocating from research that will help identify and solve big picture problems
- Demonstrated experience practicing complex UX research at scale, using methods such as diary studies, field research, remote research, moderated and unmoderated usability testing, and, only when actually necessary, surveys
- Ability to think and innovate at the intersection of the user, business value, technological feasibility, and longer-term and broader impacts
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI principles and concepts, including ethical IA, issues of bias, fairness, privacy and trust
- Experience bringing a range of people into the research process, including cross-functional partners (product managers, designers, developers, data scientists), successfully engaging stakeholders and executives with findings and insights
- Experience developing and implementing a benchmarking strategy
- Someone with stories that connects their research work to shipped product and services that made a positive impact
- Strong written and oral communication skills, helping drive change through compelling stories drawn from research
- Orderly and organized, able to manage and make sense of inbound requests, keeping track of numerous research efforts at various stages in their process
- Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to create clarity
- Eager mentor and capable educator, driven to spread methodological understanding throughout the broader team (no Ivory Tower here)
