Liquid is hiring a
Web3 Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Compensation: $85k - $150k estimated

Location: Tokyo, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan

We are looking for a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join the Liquid Group in our Tokyo office. This executive level role is primarily tasked with ensuring that Liquid’s information, communication, and computer infrastructure remain secure at all times. The role will report directly to the CEO, and a close partnership with the CIO is expected.

We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual that can design, own and run an effective information security strategy. This is not a role for someone who expects to walk into an established role with an effective team, tooling and processes in place on Day One. This is a role for a CISO that wants to define how things should be done and make change happen.

With this in mind, we are open to applicants with current CISO experience, in addition to those with ambition looking to take the next step in their career and move into a CISO role.

Must be in Japan, or have the right to work in Japan. Visa sponsorship is not currently available.

Areas of focus include, but not limited to:

  • Define the ideal target operating model, including functions to be established under the CISO and associated resource requirements.
  • Review and update where applicable, our security policies and standards. The CISO must be cognizant of how these apply to Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SassS), internal DevOps practices, and meeting changing regulatory expectations.
  • Rebuilding the Security Operations Centre (SOC) capabilities to ensure timely detection, response and remediation of security events. This includes establishing effective threat intelligence procedures.
  • Establish monitoring procedures to ensure our people are safe, and our systems are safe from mistakes or malicious actions of our people.
  • Liquid employs a three lines of defence model; work closely with the CIO, Compliance and Risk functions to establish an RCSA process that ensures policies and procedures are being followed and remain effective.
  • Create a pragmatic and realistic target security architecture for Liquid Group.
  • Help to integrate security best practices into our Development and DevOps teams’ processes. Particularly, help to define and establish secure programming principles, embedding a security mindset into our product development DNA.
  • Data loss prevention is a key focus area for the Group. The incoming CISO must be able to align our tooling and practices to address the requirements of APPI and PDPA.
  • Review and upgrade if appropriate, our Endpoint Device Management and Security solutions.
  • Ensure we have an effective cyber incident response process.
  • Vendor management for all of our security related solutions.

Required experience:

  • An abundance of common sense and a will-do attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Technical skills:

  • Experience is more important than education, your skills will be explored during the interview process.
  • The following certification(s) or equivalent are desirable but not required: GSEC, SSCP, Security+, CEH, GCIH, GCIA, GCED, GSE, or CISSP.
  • Knowledge of using a SIEM in the detection, response, mitigation, and/or reporting of cyber threats affecting networks
  • Knowledge of computer intrusion analysis and incident response best practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud security architecture, preferably AWS..
  • A good understanding of current cyber threats and the associated tactics, techniques, and procedures used to infiltrate computer networks.
  • Understanding of ISO27000 series standards.

Language:

  • English - business level (spoken and written)
