Provenance Blockchain is a public, decentralized proof-of-stake blockchain built specifically for financial services. Figure has pioneered adoption of Provenance Blockchain, and today over 50 banks, funds, asset originators and other institutions leverage Provenance Blockchain to deliver material business benefits across lending, payments and marketplaces. The mission of Provenance Blockchain Foundation is to grow adoption by a wide range of financial institutions and fintechs and to develop a deep and thriving developer community building on Provenance to create further value for participants. Built specifically for financial services, Provenance Blockchain enables instant settlement finality, high throughput, data control and a utility token called HASH that enables participants to monetize the value created by using blockchain. The market cap of HASH, the underlying utility token on Provenance Blockchain, has grown to over $8 billion since its launch in 2018.

Provenance Blockchain is seeking a CTO to evangelize the significant opportunity of leveraging and building on Provenance Blockchain with a wide range of external constituencies. This role will also share back these external perspectives to help Provenance Blockchain Foundation continue to develop the overall Provenance ecosystem from a range of technical perspectives, including security, operational resilience, scalability, interoperability and connectivity with other ecosystems, and UI/UX for developers and users.

Key responsibilities:

• Promote Provenance Blockchain to the blockchain developer community, through media, thought leadership, strategic partnerships, and networks. Key success metrics are creating an active, inclusive, diverse and successful developer community building value-added applications for financial services on Provenance blockchain, leveraging a $200MM HASH grants program, investments from JAM Fintop who is focused on investing in companies building on Provenance Blockchain, and other community building activities (eg hackathons)
• Attract strong AI-focused developers to build on Provenance, and attract great talent to the Provenance Blockchain ecosystem
• Provide input to Provenance Blockchain Foundation based on those external discussions and feedback on how Provenance Blockchain could evolve to support and facilitate its leading position within financial services (eg security, operational resilience
  and governance-strengthening features)
• Build strategic partnerships with blockchain communities that can help grow the Provenance ecosystem in strategic ways, including crypto-focused investors, and views on highest impact interoperability opportunities
• Promote Provenance Blockchain to developers and technologists of the financial services industry as key decision-makers for adoption
• Share blockchain technical expertise, knowledge and insight with regulators and lawmakers to help them understand risks and mitigants to those risks in the decentralized financial services model

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a respected blockchain technologist, ideally with a strong developer community and desire and ability to evangelize the extensive opportunities of this suite of public, decentralized tools externally. Notably, we’d like the ideal candidate to have:

• Very strong understanding of DeFi/CeFi ecosystems
• Experience and comfort with press and media, with strong communication skills, passion and dynamism
• Ability to inspire and build a large and inclusive third party developer community
• passionate about designing the future of financial services to deliver real business value, engaging diverse stakeholders and building relationships
• Entrepreneurial executive experience
• Ability to develop and attract great talent, with great interpersonal skills
