Web3 Director of Cyber Security

Director of Cybersecurity

As Coinsquare’s Director of Security , you will act as the quarterback for cybersecurity initiatives, with a focus on implementing, maintaining and improving the security measures for Canada’s largest and most secure digital currency exchange. In this role you will help manage the existing Cybersecurity strategy to ensure that Coinsquare’s infrastructure and codebase are aligned with our long-term growth plans, with security being the primary focus. You’ll shape and influence processes that encourage a security-first development mindset.

Responsibilities - Leading the technical security and compliance strategy for Coinsquare, in both a practical hands-on fashion as well as managing a team of cybersecurity professionals.   - You’ll interface with senior leadership, keeping them up-to-date on all cybersecurity initiatives.  You’ll work closely with our regulator partners, providing regular updates on cybersecurity activities. - Working closely with IT and infrastructure in implementation and management of secure practices. - Ensure your team and and supporting outsource partners maintains various cybersecurity tools used in protecting the Coinsquare infrastructure. - Mentor and coach your cybersecurity engineers at Coinsquare with a security minded focus. - Take the lead on investigations and help resolve incidents, while continuously improving the process

Requirements - A computer science degree or relevant work experience10+ years of professional experience, ideally working in IT and/or cybersecurity roles - A proven track record of motivating successful teams - Experience working with a hybrid onsite and outsourced security team a definite asset - Experience in leading and contributing to cybersecurity incident response - Experience with managing governance, risk management and compliance (financial institution governance experience an added bonus)

Nice to have - Experience working with digital assets, blockchain and cryptocurrency - Work experience in financial institutions CISSP, CISM/CISA/CRISC completed or in progress or similar accreditations - Experience with Kubernetes and containers security best practices - Experience managing a Cyber Security Incident Response Program, with expertise building and running playbooks
