The Opportunity:

As Uphold continues to develop innovative products that serve cryptocurrency customers around the world, risk will increase in complexity and scale. As part of the Fraud Prevention team, the Fraud Analyst will play a critical role in mitigating fraud, connecting with customers who are at risk of fraud, and working with department leadership to report found fraud.

What you’ll be doing primarily:

  • Review and respond to escalated customers via email and/or phone call to quickly and efficiently resolve fraud matters on their account.
  • Contact members to verify the activity in their accounts
  • Contact members to assist in resolving fraud related account issues
  • Document and analyze findings of fraud trends to report to the Management Team.
  • Distinguish ways to improve internal or external processes in order to mitigate fraud.
  • Identify bad actor behaviors in order to implement systems or processes to alert/stop activity.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert and contact for other departments on fraud-related matters
  • Partner with internal and external parties to assist with active investigations, providing support and data which can result in indictments and successful prosecution against the bad actors attacking our company.
  • Provide timely and efficient service to the same internal and external parties.
  • Review escalations coming from the Social Media Team, Customer Support, or other internal teams regarding Fraud related friction points that are creating issues for Uphold customers
  • Make contact with Uphold customers via email/phone to resolve account issues and restore access to the Uphold platform
  • Review transactions for fraudulent activity and compromised accounts
  • Generate ad-hoc reporting looking for fraud trends
  • Provide guidance to internal and external teams on any Fraud matters

Required qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in fraud prevention
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in reviewing credit card and ACH bank account transactions
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Resourceful and an ability to thrive in fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Be able to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Computer literate. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
