As a Head of Blockchain Engineering, you will be instrumental in helping us achieve our vision, by evolving our product and technology strategy. We are looking for a highly motivated and outstanding Head of Blockchain Engineering, with exceptional knowledge of the Web3 ecosystem, and a passion and curiosity for blockchain and crypto projects.

What you bring to the table

• 10-15+ years of software development background.
• 5+ years of team management and leadership experience.
• A crypto native.
• Experienced in overseeing development teams and their projects.
• Ability to hire outstanding engineering talents and scale our decentralized tech team.
• Experienced in reviewing the architecture of products and suggesting improvements.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity and conceptual knowledge of Blockchains, L1 and L2 networks.
• Familiarity with polkadot ecosystem and substrate framework.
• Hungry for impact, growth and motivated by constant learning.
• Results-driven and capable of executing in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in an early-stage startup or leading entrepreneurial teams.
• Time zone CET (+2,-2).

Things you will do

• Working closely with the CEO and management team on the peaq’s vision, mission and strategic plans; building out our competitive advantage through technology.
• Leading the strategy for peaq’s technology, development practices, standards for coding, internal and external relationships.
• Working with the product team to plan and oversee the execution of the product roadmap and contributing to designing strategies for future developments.
• Ensuring our engineering team can deliver their best work by spotting and alleviating blockers, setting IT processes, coaching teammates, and setting the bar for technical excellence.
• Monitoring reliability and performance of all internal systems, ensuring compliance with security regulations and suggesting improvements.
• Taking the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity and progress on the decentralization movement;
• Contributing to the company technical culture and being responsible for the success and personal growth of our engineers.
• Identifying, comparing, selecting and implementing technology solutions to meet the company’s goals;
• Tracking, analyzing and monitoring technology performance metrics.
• Being aware of new trends and best practices in the blockchain ecosystem.
