We are looking for a Product Manager – KYC / Compliance / Risk to help build and improve our customer verification, AML, compliance, and risk-control products.
You will work closely with Compliance, Risk Operations, Engineering, QA, Data, and external vendors to translate regulatory and operational requirements into scalable product solutions.
This role is suitable for someone who understands regulated financial products, is comfortable working with complex workflows and edge cases, and can independently drive projects from requirement analysis through production launch and iteration.
Responsibilities
- KYC & Customer Onboarding
- Own and improve KYC/KYB onboarding and verification flows, including data collection, document verification, OCR, liveness checks, automated decisions, manual review, and result handling.
- Design and optimize CDD/EDD, risk tiering, verification rules, retry flows, exception handling, and operational review processes.
- Analyze KYC funnel performance, approval rates, rejection reasons, review time, automation rates, and vendor performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Balance customer conversion, verification accuracy, fraud exposure, regulatory requirements, and operational cost.
- Compliance & AML Products
- Work with Compliance and Risk teams to translate AML/CFT, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and regulatory requirements into clear product requirements and system rules.
- Support the development and optimization of compliance capabilities such as: AML / sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, risk scoring and rule engines, case management and investigation workflows, STR/SAR reporting and regulatory reporting, and audit trails and internal compliance tools.
- Design decision logic, exception handling, manual review workflows, and escalation mechanisms for different risk scenarios.
- Risk & Fraud Control
- Support product solutions for fraud and financial-crime risks such as account takeover, scams, mule accounts, identity fraud, and suspicious transaction behavior.
- Work with Data and Risk teams to improve risk rules, alerting, monitoring, and automated decision strategies.
- Use data to evaluate rule effectiveness, false-positive / false-rejection rates, operational workload, and overall risk impact.
- Product Delivery & Integration
- Independently conduct requirement analysis, product design, process mapping, and solution design.
- Write clear PRDs, business rules, user flows, API requirements, acceptance criteria, and edge-case handling.
- Work closely with Engineering and QA throughout development, testing, UAT, launch, and post-launch monitoring.
- Integrate and manage external compliance and identity-verification vendors, including KYC providers, sanctions screening services, and blockchain analytics providers.
- Evaluate vendor solutions based on accuracy, coverage, stability, compliance suitability, user experience, and cost.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in fintech, payments, digital banking, crypto, financial services, or other regulated industries.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following areas: KYC / KYB / identity verification, AML / sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, fraud / risk-control systems, or compliance / case-management platforms.
- Good understanding of KYC and AML concepts, including CDD/EDD, risk-based approaches, screening, manual review, and transaction monitoring.
- Ability to translate ambiguous compliance or operational requirements into structured product flows, system rules, and executable requirements.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to use funnel, approval, rejection, accuracy, and operational data to diagnose product problems.
- Able to independently drive projects and work effectively with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Engineering, QA, and Data teams.
- Strong attention to detail, especially around system states, decision rules, exception cases, and auditability.
- Strong ownership, communication, execution, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in crypto, digital assets, exchanges, cross-border payments, e-wallets, or remittance products.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments such as BSP / AMLC or other financial regulators.
- Experience with KYC vendors such as Sumsub, Jumio, Onfido, Persona, or similar providers.
- Experience with blockchain analytics or transaction-monitoring tools such as Elliptic, Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of fraud typologies such as scams, mule accounts, phishing, account takeover, and identity fraud.
- Experience building internal compliance tools, rules engines, workflow systems, or case-management platforms.
- Background in compliance, risk, operations, data analytics, or financial institutions is a plus.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
