About Us 🚀
Immutable is a global technology company, powering the leading platform for building games on Ethereum. We are on a mission to build the future of gaming by redefining how games are played and discovered. Founded in 2018, Immutable is one of the fastest Australian companies to hit unicorn status, having raised more than AUD $300M+ and a valuation of AUD $3.5 billion.
Currently, the Immutable Group consists of the Immutable Platform, the leading platform for building games on Ethereum powering successful games like RavenQuest and Immortal Rising 2, and Immutable Games, a global leader in web3 game development and publishing with leading titles Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians.
Our ambition is to make digital worlds real; we have incredible global growth plans as the fastest growing gaming chain in 2024 with 250+ games signed, more than in all previous years combined. 🚀
About The Role 🤔:
Web3 is transforming how games attract, engage, and retain players—and we’re looking for a Lead Designer to help shape the systems that power this new era. In this role, you’ll design and scale systems that help games attract and retain high-value players—leveraging quests, rewards, and social mechanics that are engaging and aligned with each game's identity.
You’ll work closely with product managers to define vision and strategy, drive product validation through rapid experimentation, and design for outcomes that improve conversion, retention, and long-term engagement.
Ideal candidates will bring strong systems thinking, commercial awareness, and experience designing for complex B2B2C or multi-sided products. You’ll need to thrive in fast-paced environments, collaborate effectively across growth, product, and leadership teams, and mentor designers working on experimentation and growth. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape core user experiences that directly influence how games succeed in the Web3 space.
You'll Be Empowered To 🎮:
- Rapidly validate and launch player-first Web3 experiences from the ground up (0→1), including designing for products like Immutable Play
- Align B2B studio needs with B2C player experiences to deliver organic, engaging moments—not ad-like interactions.
- Design and scale Studio system tools such as Points-as-a-Service (PaaS) systems (where studios can reward player loyalty)
- Scale design impact through systems thinking and experimentation frameworks.
- Lead product validation through rapid experimentation—turning bold hypotheses into actionable, data-backed designs.
- Partner with product managers to shape strategy and long-term vision across key products.
- Use AI tools to scale personalized, game-themed reward systems without sacrificing quality or creativity.
- Define and monitor product health metrics, ensuring your designs drive engagement, conversion, and retention.
- Collaborate with offshore teams to localize and scale community engagement systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally to test, ship, and optimize player-facing features.
We'd Love You To Bring 🤝:
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a Product Designer, ideally in consumer-facing, fast-growing tech, or gaming environments.
- Track record of 0→1 product design: Proven experience designing products from the ground up in ambiguous, high-velocity settings.
- Experience with complex, multi-sided products: Comfortable designing for B2B2C models, marketplaces, or game ecosystems.
- Strong systems thinking: Demonstrated ability to create scalable design systems that drive engagement and align with broader product strategy.
- High design craft and animation skills: Detail-oriented across static UI and interactive or motion-based design elements.
- Lean experimentation with commercial impact: Skilled in overseeing the designing and running of experiments that move business metrics like CAC, LTV, and conversion—not just engagement.
- Behavioral design in gaming: Experienced in applying game psychology (e.g., variable rewards, status loops) to enhance retention, virality, and monetization.
- Data fluency and business acumen: Able to analyze player metrics and unit economics to assess the long-term viability of features and systems.
- AI-augmented design: Use of generative tools to accelerate experimentation, simulate reward mechanics, and personalize player experiences.
- Cross-team collaboration: Proven ability to align across product, growth, engineering, and external partners to deliver cohesive player-first experiences
Bonus Points For ✅:
- Web3 product thinking: Understanding of how to balance player delight with token utility and studio/stakeholder incentives.
- Experience with AI tools: Familiarity using AI in the design or creative workflow.
